Are you beginning to believe it is true now then? True or not we are now in that stage that the internet has given us when stories have their own momentum and they have credence because everyone is talking about it so it must be true. Rick will be sharpening his pen to write the first Aussie out story and Fanny will be getting ready to say I trust in Slater and Jimminez, Katerien and Duchatalet, the Aussies. fans will be getting ready to storm the valley for our first Aussie ownership match achieving a crowd on 11,000 with the trust selling black and white cork hats and someone will be buying thousands of plastic kangaroos to throw on the pitch ala ticker tape in Argentina --- happy days

If it happens? Odd thing to say by somebody who has repeatedly told us we are not for sale? Me? I only ever repeated what the club told me. Through the last two or three rounds of Everitt's rumour-mongering the club both officially and unofficially insisited repeatedly and emphatically that CAFC was not for sale. I was told so as recently as June 21 by a very senior Charlton figure when by chance we were both guests of Investec at a cricket match between England and South Africa at the Ageas Bowl. The denials turned out to be true. But since this latest rumour surfaced this afternoon I haven't heard a denial out of the club. So who knows? Hopefully we will get a denial tomorrow because, if it is true and it is the Aussies who were so potless only a few months ago, I fear pete tongs's heading to this thread about torpedoing our promotion hopes will turn out to be the case.

It would be funny if we got new owners and they kept Katrien in place ... Vinegar servers would explode

If it happens I will miss Katriens mini skirts. That is a compliment by the way.

Everitt has predicted umpteen takeovers in his poisonous comic so by the law of averages he'll be right one day, then claim that he told us all along.
The clown has lost all credibility as failed, out voted politicians normally do.

Be careful what you wish for springs to mind here.
If RD sells and new owners fuck us up then believe me the main protagonists who wanted him out will never live it down.

If Powell came back it would be a massive backward step IMO .And before people start I have nothing against Powell .

Powell is a fake, 2012 was a one off, he's proven he is as shit as they are since, they deserve each other.

I don't want Powell back either, but if Powell came back and you never step foot inside the Valley again, you will have become a boycotter and yet you have been criticising boycotters for longer than I can recall.

No i won't be a boycotter, I would turn my back completely.
I could choose to do any one of a number of things with my odd Saturday's off.
This weekend for example, Ascot or Bradford or Ascot or stay at home?
I would cut all ties with the club, let somebody take over this place and walk away.
That's not boycotting, it's sticking two fingers up to people I detest.
That's not so much Powell, it's the despicable people who call themselves fans.
Powell could have failed the season he won the league and there'd still be 'fans' who'd want to unzip his fly's.

SoundAsa£ 3:09PM Genuinely have tears in my eyes......forget Christmas and my shortly coming up 70th birthday........just let this happen to make life worthwhile again. I just want some faces around the place that I can look straight in the eye and be proud of once again. The Valley has been toxic these last few years and now, please god, the decontamination can begin. What a wuss, man up you twat! Your response to this genuine long term supporter of this Club speaks volumes. This isn't about the ownership, it's about the understanding of what this glorious football club means to so many people and how they feel that the soul of the Club has been ripped out of it by Duchatalet and his minions and the fact it means nothing to them.

overthetop, It means as much to me as it does anyone else so who are you to decide otherwise as your post suggests?
Long term supporter of the club he may be but I've done 34 years myself up and down the West Coast mainline and he's no more of a fan than I am except I don't reach for the tissues because somebody has made his 27th attempt at informing fans of an imminent take over bid in his fanzine.

Of course I would welcome a takeover just as long as it leaves us in a better position to take us forward than Rolands reign , so I would hold fire on any celebrations until it happens and we know a lot more about the new owners. Ok I will admit it I read the thread on CL regarding the takeover and I just cannot believe some of the comments , fecking clowns 🤡. Why the hell would you want to replace Robinson with Powell and go back to that dire football we produced under his management, Robinson has us playing some of the best football we have seen since Mendonca was in the side and all KR needs is a bit more backing on transfers to take us up while playing Attractive to boot ,it’s a win win imo. I’m sure most of them who moan and boycott games on that site are from the prawn sandwich glory hunting days of when we was in the premiership and have totally lost touch with reality on how much it would cost now to get us back to the premier let alone make us a stable team in the championship. Just hope for the sake of any new owner he or they are stinking rich otherwise the pitchfork brigade won’t take long until they are chasing them down Valley floyd Road.

Well first will believe it if it happens, 2nd if in the unlikely event it is true lets hope it is not this cash strapped Aussie lot who think they can run a football club are size on less than £10 million a season.

Excellent news which will hopefully be completed by the end of the year How can it be excellent news ... The Aussies 3 months ago did not have the funds to complete the deal after agreeing to buy the valley for 25 mill over a number of years .. If they take over .... I think the time to judge them will be end of jan .

Not a cats chance in hell Powell would be invited to come back. Is this just what a couple of people are wanting on social media or is it a real wish/demand from hundreds of fans?
Robinson is doing a fine job with his current resources and IF we were to get new owners I would be disappointed if they were to replace him at this stage. However, new owners are often keen to get their onw man in.

Anybody who does take over needn't worry about the £50 odd million debt to staprix, as I am told on here it is free money given to Charlton by Roland Duchatelet out of the goodness of his heart.

It is an operational cost paid by RD as a loan to keep the club afloat and avoid bank / bad debt.
If RD wants to write that debt off he can - Coutts never would and that toxic debt would be much more likely to affect the ultimate price and a new buyer's potential interest.
.....but you know that.
