He looked dangerous against us to be fair, would be a good freebie.

Marshall is the right sort of player , caused us all sorts of problems at the valley, an excellent free transfer.

Have to admit, he stood out when we played them earlier in the season, but I don't know how consistent he's been throughout his career.

He has never been a prolific goal scorer and most of those have been at a lower level. Can't see how buying a such a player who is nearly 30, is a long term investment, no matter what his current attributes are.

As much as I like Ricky his final ball is often astray!

Lol Major, I don't 😜😜 Sorry, Cindy. I missed this. Yes, I should have put 'Most' of us not 'All' of us. The thrust of the message was that rather than post it like 'Inside info', it would be courteous to share the link, so we can all - or most of us - read the particular media item.

I think he would be more like an extremely average free transfer but I do believe it could be a clear sign of things to come. But at the moment next season is a clean canvas and we can but hope we inherit a few true artists.

Bolton have joined the race for him now as well Yes I'm sure promotion winning Championship side Bolton will be looking to build their squad around free transfer cast offs from Lg1.

With their debt, do not be surprised if that is all they can do! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32138946And last years accounts are still to be signed off!

Manager Karl Robinson has outlined the areas he needs to strengthen at Charlton Athletic to make them successful next term – and he accepts it's a long shopping list.
He revealed he is on the lookout for two goalkeepers, an indication that Declan Rudd – on loan from Norwich City – may be out of his reach as a potential target given the interest for him from clubs higher up the Football League.
"We are looking at two goalkeepers maybe," confirmed Robinson. "We probably need people right the way across the back four, two in midfield and I think four wingers and a number 10. That's not to say the players here won't be considered. The players here need competition for their own places. And that's got to be in the aim.

To be honest the way he wants to play the midfielders will be your forwards with Magennis as a target man .

Hate this "number 10" role! The modern day, no responsibility role. Typifies all the pony stuff I can't stand about football at the moment. Some plonka midfielder who don't want to track back or put a foot in, don't want to cover the ground or do the messy stuff or even get on the end of chances for fear of missing a sitter and getting criticism. Silly little flicks and tricks that don't come off but are "ok" because they where "just trying to open the opposition up" get back to 4-4-2!!! Rant over.

Said this before but I love the way Las Palmas play, no strikers just midfielders popping up all over the place, I don't recall KR having an out and out striker at MK Dons to be honest once Grigg left.

Silly little flicks and tricks that don't come off but are "ok" because they where "just trying to open the opposition up" get back to 4-4-2!!! Rant over. There are a few teams over the years who have accommodated box office players in the number 10 role and been happy to do so. Nowadays, most number tens work very hard for the team including taking responsibility for the pressing trigger. 4-4-2 is all well and good if you either have good ball retention in both midfield and attack, or you are extremely compact and play on the break. Either way, in order to play it nowadays you have to have tremendous pace and stamina all over the pitch. Every player has to be defensively able to know when to track and when to pass on and anticipate patterns of play or you end up with good teams playing through you. In in order to dictate attacking play and wrong foot defenders in most systems, you need players who can find space between midfield and defence and weight balls to feet it into space for runners. They have to be able to use both feet and play inside and outside of the foot, scoops and backspin wedges. They avoid the ball endlessly going sideways and backwards or just being pumped forwards so I applaud them on both counts. We certainly don't have the personnel to play 4-4-2 any way you want so a system that incorporates one of more number 10 style players is easier to plan for. Those players must be allowed to try flicks and risky balls however without the fecking idiots at the Valley moaning and groaning when they don't come off. The result is the team start playing safe, sideways and backwards then the same pillocks in the crowd start complaining that we're not penetrating.

Just hope we don't sell Holmes - by far our best player. He is under contract and with respect to him we are not going to get a Lookman size fee for him and should be doing everything to keep him

What is the point of selling Holmes. If RD sadly stays then they must keep their best players and add quality players. Not sell like Lookman which did hit out play off bids. Why not be like Fulham rich owner keeping players including their youngsters. Shows lake of ambition once again from RD once again.
