I have just watched that clip in work with no volume.
You should all try it because the guy's body language tells you that Wilder is our man.

I hope he joins. With the right squad and preparation he and his assistant will be buying a ticket to the Championship.
We should be in a very different place come September.

For me, it's a good initial statement of intent by (hopefully) appointing a guy with a good recent record who has experience of lower division football. I had definitely feared the appointment of another unknown Belgian, network manager or someone from within the club's youth set up.
However, it'll mean nothing if he isn't given license to scout and purchase his own players and the budget necessary to ensure that these players are of the right calibre.

Done a fantastic job with Northampton no doubt about that. If he comes to Charlton I think he would have the fans behind him.

As it has been all along - support the team , not the regime! Ive often wondered - why isnt that the same thing? Would be interested to hear your thoughts. What's the same thing? If you mean the "regime" and the team are the same then I'd have to say different! The "team" produce the goods in the short term , they're the ones who send you home from a game with either a smile on your face or a scowl - where as the "regime" are the ones who are supposed to produce the goods in the long term ... The way I look at it is that it's the team who wear the red shirts and put effort in in front of however many thousand people. They have to make do with what they're given AKA who trains them , who brings in their colleagues , where they train and the quality of that place, and then essentially what direction their career goes -so they're the ones who we should back and support - they're the ones we need to show loyalty to and gain loyalty from- because in the short term we can have a good season and win games HOWEVER The regime are the ones who wear the suits , and have so far effectively lambasted, humiliated and questioned our loyalty! They're the ones who are supposed to produce, plan and supply a prosperous future - they're the ones who hold hostage to the hundred and ten years worth of collective memories that is Charlton athletic FC... With better "regimes" we have better "teams" , with so with better "teams" we have better memories and a happier fan base, surely?

The team is the regime, especially when someone like Duchatelet is in charge, with the constant squad and managerial upheaval him and Miere are the biggest stalwarts!
No doubt Duchatelet sees this as the simplest way to quieten down the peasants, it'll be interesting to see whether Wilder is a head coach or manager.
Anyway, I hope he fails, I'd hate Duchatelet to succeed in any way.

I think Lennie is going to be involved too and the club are waiting for Wilder to sign on the dotted line before announcing a management team of Wilder and Knill with Lennie upstairs.

But you have to concede that the owner may have wised up and if the UK based management/ scouts/director of football/players do rip up the league then we may have to re-consider our owner remembering that there are potential future owners who could be human traffickers, drug barons and general evil feckers who may make RD appear to be a godsend. No way am I an RD apologist but the old truism of careful what you wish for may again be the order of the day! Just saying

Well I hope they both sign, are given full control and are successful. My love and commitment of Charlton is not the owner but the team and the coaching staff. It's those who I feel a bond with and its those who either make or break my day The owner i feel is someone who has the money and will trust and support his team whilst balancing the books to keep the club ongoing as a business. I don't want RD to fail just because he has made some terrible decisions, I would prefer that he rectified what he has done wrong as he has the finances to turn it around. If he does then we will see but any return he wants to see would be dependent on championship stays or higher.

There are some who have been against the board for five and a half years now but do not appear to have suggested an alternative vision. They simply blame, regret and complain. And fail to actually observe reality plus understand the finances and risks involved. Some place their faith in Peter Varney to provide a solution but the last owners he brought to the table ran out of cash. The simplest solution is to appoint Wilder, then Lennie and sort out the squad. Far less risky than a takeover and the onus is still on the club to deliver and build up a relationship with the fans again. This doesn't solve the approach to the Championship upon our return but that is tomorrow's problem.

That leaves me almost speechless and if that represents the collective view of the grumblies then we really are fucked and the quicker they carry out their boycott threat and piss off to Bluewater or Brent Cross on a Sat afternoon, then the better for everybody.

If Wilder takes this job let us see how long he lasts, Duchatelet may make all the right noises in interview but let us see what happens with the summer recruitment. Final line of yours I can understand, I thought I was extreme. We must go for a drink before a game!

If I was Chris Wilder, I'd tell Roland to stick their offer where the sun don't shine! I know Northampton were in a difficult situation and are a smaller club but they must be a better club to work under than us!

I have said for the past twelve months this Belgian c*** will relegate us, and I will be amazed if we see a promotion with him. The Belgians have got to go.

Now I'm a protestor and what I'm hearing is that RD is changing his approach and appointing British this can only be a good thing seeing as most of the gripe with him was about appoint unknown belgium network shit.If as Reams thinks Lennie may be involved as well that is another step in the right direction. You can only spend 70% of your income on player wages so non season ticket renewals no sponsors would make it difficult to keep pkayers and to strengthen the squad .He will get my Full support as manager .As for the regime time will tell if they are serious by going down this road

Wilder must know what s*** is going on in SE7, and if he thinks he can change things he is sadly mistaken.

You confidently told us he would never employ a head coach from outside his "Euro-network"! The word is that Lennie Lawrence is coming in, too, in order to support him as DoF...

I would have to agree that at 68 Lawrence is hardly a dynamic appointment and smacks more than a little of 'yesterday's man'. But Wilder is on record as saying Lennie is the best manager he played under and so they could make a very good pairing - if you can stay awake!

The word is that Lennie Lawrence is coming in, too, in order to support him as DoF... But has he changed his way? Ok he might appoint an English manager ( who is quite clearly only coming here because it's a stepping stone and a big pay day) but how does that mean he's changed? He needs a manager who will "appease" the fans as well as one who will listen to what he wants/how he wants to run the club... By having an English manager , still begs the question to whether the recruitment policy in the long term has/will changed Other sources are saying Lennie Lawrence has turned Down the chance to come here , with big differences with RD over control of the team/transfers etc , he also hasn't been seen at a home game since a meeting potentially took place!

It's too early to tell of course.
An official approach does not mean Wilder is definitely coming to the Valley. Negotiations might fall through. Some cynics might say the whole Wilder exercise is just a diversion to wrong-foot protesting fans while Duchatelet goes after his real target; Nebojša Vignjević.
If Wilder or another similar manager does not come and Vignjević ends up as Charlton's next head coach, it will be difficult to believe this was not the owner's plan all along. Even if Chris Wilder does get the job, will he and his people be given the authority and support that they will need?
But my point is that all of this is speculation.
We would do well to regard rumours and talk of developments with caution, and not get too carried away wrangling over an almost infinite choice of possibilities. Frustrating though it is, only time will tell.
In the meantime I am going to hope that there is real change coming, and I'm prepared to support real change for the better. If events prove my hopes misplaced then so be it. But weeks or months might pass before we know, and during that wait I prefer to hope rather than be downcast.
