Due to sign on Tuesday and this video shows us what we can expect.
I am impressed to be honest, doesn't care where the ball goes, he just wants to win it and 9 times out of 10 he does, quite convincingly too.
I also like the row Z attitude instead of the few centre backs we have had recently like, Morrison, Johnson and Ben Haim who have dilly dallied and got caught in possession.
I can't see him losing much in the air and he looks a bit of a threat at the other end too, where he might not score many but he can create enough havoc for those around him to make the most of.

Very good video compilation that. I see what you mean Reams. He's very direct and athletic? I think he looks a very good prospect.

From the video he looks good in the air and and on the ground. His positional sense was also very good. Looks a promising prospect.

Interesting that and I have no problem with row Z when needs be but let's hope he shows more of those composed moments on the ball, after all we have just lost Gomez widely regarded as so composed with the ball at his feet it belied his youth.

Really exited about this transfer, I saw this video the other day and as you say a big CB who looks very capable of performing at championship level. The fact he has champions league experience against teams like Chelsea at the age of 21 shows he has something about him, even if he wasnt first choice.
Interesting that we have gone back for him as so far looks as if GL has had a big say in transfers but considering we were linked with Naby Sarr before Luzon arrived suggests somebody else (Fraeye) is very keen to bring him to Charlton.

Is the same Naby Sarr we were talking about yesterday Reams, the one you weren't overly keen on?

Yes it is, I can't be 100% right against players all the time, I'll settle for just most of the time

I for one reckon he'll be a hit in this league. I'm still curious on what Chris Herd is going because I heard about 1-2 weeks ago that we offered him a trial ? He would be a good utility player to have

It's going to be very interesting to see how the new players adapt to the Championship and how Luzon blends them. Only time will tell, I guess.
What does seem clear is that we're going to be a bruising, physical side which will play aggressively and at a high tempo. To state the obvious, we are likely to be a nightmare to deal with at dead ball situations and, more generally, very difficult to play against.
Luzon will need to find a game plan that allows his team to play in what I assume to be his preferred style, with passion and intensity, and yet which also provides a platform for his flair players, Ceballos, Gudmundsson and Watt.
It's all very different to what Bob Peeters was trying to do. I'd liked him, but I'm looking forward to seeing this new team in action.

He's 21 and still learning the game, how many games do you expect him to have played?
He has played 57 games and scored 8 goals. He has played 8 games for Sporting and 49 for Lyon, you would expect both clubs to have some very good defenders in front of him in the pecking order, don't forget we signed Michael Morrison who was an outcast at Sheff Weds, Leon Cort was getting much game time at Burnley, Tal Ben Haim played 10 games in a year at Standard Liege and Bikey was rescued from Panetolikos reserves in Greece having made 23 appearances.
Everybody was punching the air when the news broke that we were about to sign a 20 year old from Nancy for £3m but because Sarr will cost half that and found it difficult to break a long term and experienced defensive partnership at the heart of the Sporting Lisbon defence, people are questioning his credentials!!
Some fans really do need to look at the bigger picture, Tony Watt is a fans favourite at Charlton yet played 25 games in three years at Celtic!

Sarr played 18 times for Sporting first team (8 league, 6 domestic cup, 4 Champions League) and once for the second team last season. I'd be more worried about the number of games he played if he was a regular in the second team, but obviously he wasn't - in fact he was part of the first team matchday squad (be it starting, sub or unused sub) for 23 of Sporting's 34 league games (ie more than two thirds of them). Not sure what more people expect from a 21 year old at a Champions League level side!

If I'm honest if it were me I would have much preferred the best goal scoring centre half in England who happens to also be 6ft 5". His name is Aden Flint who plays for Bristol City, I reckon we could have got him for between £1.5 and £2m. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aden_Flint

French Twitter account says this about Naby: "As a big unit, Sarr is dominant in the air and has a strong physical game. But, having come through arguably the best youth set-up in France at present, he is also comfortable with the ball at his feet. The predominantly left-footed defender is able to bring the ball out of defence himself, or can be relied upon to distribute the ball to a better-placed team-mate." frenchfootballweekly.com/2015/01/26/charlton-athletic-in-talks-with-former-lyon-youngster/
