Guys guys guys what you got to remember is that we where playing a side who where in the Premiership not long a go.And still have premiership players the first half we were awful but I am not going to lose my rag over it. Second half we looked stronger bossed it and on another day maybe got something out of but thats football. These players are still in credit with me and have got us into a position where we are talking about possible promotion push. Lets get behind them and see where we are in January because I can imagine a lot of team maybe hit by financial fair play and unable to sign anybody. Keep the faith That's too much of an easy excuse mate which I am reading over and over again. That team who you say were a Premiership not long a go have been getting battered by everybody up until recently and their so called top stars didn't do much then did they. We were totally out played and outclassed by that same side in the first 45 minutes which is a major issue on our part, it has nothing to do with where Fulham were last season.

Werll they've only lost one of their last seven matches, and Rodellega and Ruiz weren't in the side that lost six of their first seven matches or whatever it was... I don't see it as "a major issue on our part" . It was just a game of football and we lost due to some poor defending, which you must admit was uncharacteristic as the defence has been top class this season. We will bounce back next week v Shef Wed. You'll see. I'm looking forward to a rare victory over Millwall next month, too!

We have 16 players and our season has been based upon getting through it without many injuries or suspensions.
People are saying that we missed Buyens, Wiggins and Vetokele last night which we did, but this is not going to be a one off, it's impossible with the amount of players we have and each time we miss a player the one that replaces him will not be of the same standard and that is poor club management at owner level. He wants to see the kids come through and play he reckons but he is deluded if he thinks that they are in the side on merit because they are not. He has given Peeters 12 senior pro's to choose from so the kids issue has been forced on him to ensure that at some stage some will play.

There are good posts in this thread from both sides. It's too soon to press the panic button though. Remember, we already have the same number of points that we had in February of last year. Roland and the board never intended for us to be as competitive as we are. Katrien was repeatedly quoted as essentially saying the goal this season was to avoid relegation.
I've said it before and i'll say it again, this season reminds me a lot of our prem years where we secured enough points to survive relatively quickly, then fell down the table. I can see the exact same thing happening this season.

I'm not calling anyone out here on this or other boards but there are some who have been very critical of Buyens of late. And Wiggins... And Bulot (now out for a few weeks). So those same fans can't have it all ways - not Reams by the way as he rates Buyens. Up until last night the back five has been great - it works. I'm not sure about Pope but I won't call for another keeper just in case Henderson is out for a stretch because that's a waste of budget and a waste of Pope's time. The front six is much more complex for the following reasons: 1) We only have Jackson, Cousins, Wilson and Harriott left from the old regime and none of them deserve to be bombed out... 2) Church Reza Piotr piggott etc already gone! That's a fair clearout on top of players not renewed last summer 3) I honestly don't know enough about tactics and the players to state the best set up vs each opponent - I think that is where the debate should go, I.e., what is the best we can do with the current resource. 4) I do know who I think is struggling and I do know the club is planning two quality player acquisitions - if these two are the right players we will storm up the table winning more often than losing.
Basically I reckon next summer there will be five in and five out as we continue to improve - it will get harder and it may be that top players are sold because they want out or bids are too tempting?
I took a look at Derby County squad and do you know they've only used around 14 or 15 players this season. And that eight of the players with most appearances this season have been there for at least two years.
Peeters and Meire simply didn't have that foundation to build on and they are making it right now...Next season we will have real chances because players age and experience and they will have played a whole season together.

Agreed! 1st half damaged us big time and our defending was very poor and our passing was pathetic and the lack of movement costed us. Why on earth did we get rid of Kermorgant is beyond me, we needed someone like him 2nd half as all our players up top apart from Bikey is shite in the air. Then again, I thought Fulham looked like they are recovering and I would not be surprised if they end up top 10 pretty soon. Certain fans feel optimistic after the game, reality check needed!!!! No Picksy doesn't "Like" this. ( Meant to click on 'Quote'). I think it is you and terryducks that need the reality check. All this slagging and bleating about getting in loan players is bordering on the ridiculous. As is 'not giving a monkeys about effort'. Get with the program. In fact, get real. . Picksy, if you spend some time reading my previous posts, I did not mention once that we should bring in loan players. I suppose you felt optimistic after losing 3-0? I would feel optimistic if we played well for 90 mins and lost but playing shite in the first half and failing to recover from it does not give me any reason at all to feel optimistic, hence the reality check.

Nothing personal, disco - just have a different point of view, is all. And yes, I still feel optimistic that we will do OK this season and at the very least have something solid to build on for next season. After the first two went in I thought we were in for a good hiding but the lads showed what they are made of and in the end, I thought 3-0 flattered Fulham.

I think last night demonstrated what I've been saying these last couple of weeks, but I was heartened by the switch at half time because we thoroughly dominated the game after the break and had a lot of shots as a result. Far too few on target though - we had half again the number of shots Fulham had, but only half their tally on target.
The point is that for once we faced an opponent that took their chances. This isn't the first game we conceded enough good chances to have been beaten comprehensively.
The good news is that this is a tight league and we've shown we can edge games. Without serious investment in quality in January though, I think we've been as high as we'll get with this squad. That's not a criticism, but a reality check, SR's right to point out there are sides lower down the league to face in the next few weeks, but we've done better against the better sides on the whole. I think we're a 10th-14th side.

I think last night demonstrated what I've been saying these last couple of weeks,. Hey, Monsieur Roland, you should listen to this guy His tactical reading is far superior to Bob Peeters. He gets all the finer points that your coaching staff miss and every game we fail to win (well, that's twice) demonstrates what he's been trying to tell you. Wake up and listen. Better still, give him a job ! Last night apparently proved what he's been trying to tell you. What is more, he's been saying it for two weeks now, but Bob wouldn't listen. lol... Riko, read back what you said about the Bolton victory, which we neither deserved nor earned, because they had more shots, corners and possession. Then read the 'lies lies and damned statistics' thread. And then see if you can keep a straight face while telling me I'm wrong to take the piss out of such arrogant 'I was right' grandstanding!

Well IA, I'd hardly expect you to do anything but attack me personally. You've made it your mission. Ignore the bias in favour of the positive in my post and focus on your twisted interpretation of my first sentence, that's the key to rational football debate. Ive given up on getting a straight answer to the simple question I posed you three times - seems it wasn't negative but realistic after all.
My point from Bolton stands. We have far too few shots on target. Yesterday, to get anything from the game - as in the Bolton game - we needed to score every single one of our shots on target. In the first half we conceded way too much possession and it cost us the game. You told me that I was negative and full of fear by stating that if we continued in such vein we would not sustain the results. Yet first half we did exactly that and lost the game in the first 12 minutes.
Like I say, it's encouraging we found a different way to play second half, but Fulham stopped pressing us high and sat back, playing on the counter. Even then, we never really looked like getting that goal though, did we.

"I think last night demonstrated what I've been saying these last couple of weeks."
LOL . You are so feckin shameless, riko-baby.
But instead of whingeing about the egregious errors of our coaching staff on message boards - which sadly I doubt M Duchatalet, Katrien or Bob Peeters have time to read - you need to call them direct and tell them how they've got it arse-over-tip. I'm sure they will be hugely gratefully if you can point them in the correct direction.
After all, you've been "saying it for a couple of weeks" and last night proved everything you have been trying to tell 'em.
Get over yerself 'fella' (not a termn I would normally use, except that it seems to be your favoured form of address).

The team was out classed on Friday night, that is all that can be said about them. Fulham at bottom of the league in a flase posistion because of the previous coach and his weird ideas.
