He stated that the retractable roof would get in the way of his style of football

An excellent footballing weekend has just been made even better by reading the hilarious post from a Huddersfield fan on CL Unfortunately I cannot cut and paste it on my iPad, but Charlton fans will be surprised to note the following phrases about Udders performance yesterday.... "Hoof ball" " disjointed League One football" " defensive shambles" " a big step backwards after the football they were playing under Mark Lillis" shurely shome mistake .... Needless to say, the Udders fan has been flagged to the Mods

"Hoof ball" " disjointed League One football" " defensive shambles" " a big step backwards after the football they were playing under Mark Lillis" shurely shome mistake .... Needless to say, the Udders fan has been flagged to the Mods Based on the shambles I witnessed yesterday, my version is 'the future of Chris Powell is managing a Team in the bottom leagues of English League Football', with Huddersfield Town unfortunately. After making much needed progress under our Caretaker Manager Lillis, yesterday was a step-change back to Robins days. Disjointed, outclassed, outplayed, we looked league 1 not Championship. Way off the performance level required to cut it in this division. Yes of course it is only his first match but c'mon, you expect (and it happens a lot) that the new Manager effect is positive and the Team Plays a great first game (then it can go downhill!!). He has been banging on in the local Media about how his Players will play for him, keeping clean sheets, winning, entertaining the fans etc etc. Well Chris, you managed not one of them commitments to the fans yesterday, not one. As one of Mates summed it up on arriving at the Pub after the match (I had long gone); "that was boring". Time will tell, the jury though (as were many of the fans early yesterday) are well and truly out.

Copied and pasted from Hudds ProBoards forum - sincerely hope that things improve for CP and he learns from his mistakes quickly! waltzingthecowshed Iwan Roberts Terrier 11 hours ago Quote Play a straight 4-4-2 and we will go down, with what we got we still get bossed in midfield...we got lots of talent at this club in Scanz Majevski Hammill Bunn Lolley and Billing, what Powell needs is to find a system or set up to utilise them with Wells Butterfield and Coady. If it means a return to 3-5-2 so be it to avoid a return to the hoofball we saw today which didnt get the result or "the overachievement" CP and Dean desire. Just read the thread on CL. Utterly unbelievable, that the post from scabbyhorse was flagged.
Will this never end?

What I like about it here is we post, we agree, disagree, even argue and some people fall out but generally it just carries on as before. "Liking" and "Flagging" is almost an open invitation for nit picking which I think can only enhance bad feeling and there is enough of that in every day life, without having it on forums too.

Wish CP all the best as long as we take 6 points off them - but to be getting those sort of comments after 1 game does not bode well.

Why go out of our way to criticise Powell though? The detractors would be the first to say 'move on' if Powell had started well and someone posted fanboy comments about that. So bloody move on.
Huddersfield have only got 4 points this season before Powell joined, and sacked their manager after one appalling game. There are other comments on that forum that talk about the players not being good enough and Powell having one hell of a job.
So it's no wonder people have a pop at this forum when this is the type of stuff posted. It's a pop at someone who's got nothing to do with Charlton any more using selective comments from somewhere else simply for the sake of having a go. Grow up, move on.

It's perfectly easy to find a numpty posting somewhere on a football forum who supports a particular view. We have a new manager/head coach called Bob Peeters and when I last looked he was doing a decent job - indeed the best start to a season since err........oh yes since Chris Powell was our manager. I hope Chris succeeds but only if his team is roundly thrashed by us and they end the season below us. I support the current owners/manager/team. It really is time to move on....

For Chris to succeed Huddersfield would have succeeded whatever that means. Huddersfield can lose every game this season for all I care. My only concern is Charlton winning and Bob being a success.

It's a game of opinions, thank god. We also discuss Curbs ever getting his arse off the pundits sofa (what a waste), Pardew being the biggest tosser in football (another sacking imminent), and how did Uncle Les ever end up managing in the Premier League. People will always be provoked to comment when seeing remarks like 'Huddersfield are now my second team' I don't know when we are due to play Udders at the Valley, but you can guarantee that there will be a lot of wet underpants around SE7 that week.

Talk about dopey me!! The liking part is fine but flagging I think can really be open to abuse and is definitely a nitpickers paradise. Flagging should only be a last resort when someone is clearly offensive and I would favour a word with the moderator if I was really complaint inclined!

I can help you Cockney lads out with Delort, think yourselves lucky he opted to go to ecky thump land, that Vetokele was much more impressive up here. Smithies & the Wigan strikers wastefulness saved us last night we were awful. We're back to playing players out of position four holding midfielders last night. It was like watching squash with a football, big hoof from the centre halfs and the ball came straight back. You lads who are complaining when you are unbeaten need to take a reality check. My team is doomed unless we take drastic action. If Jordan Rhodes was still here he would be turned in to a free transfer player he would get no service.

Colin you are better off putting a link to that in your thread because it doesn't make sense.
I understand you are quoting a Hudds fan but others might not.
