Rumours send Andy Delort everywhere in Europe (Germany, England, Belgium, Spain, France...) since the beginning of the transfer market. The latest reported an agreement with Wigan AFC, second division English club. At the moment, no agreement was found with this club, even if discussions do exist. Discussions which are also underway with several clubs. Including a higher offer was made by another British formation, completed offer of a very interesting partnership for Tours FC training centre.
The mercato is not yet closed, reliable information about a future transfer of Andy Delort will be communicated on the club's official website.

"A more important offer has been made by another British side, one which includes a club partnership which is very interesting for the youth system at Tours. The window is not closed, and official informations will be communicated via the club’s official website.” I wonder if RD and the network are involved?

On SSN about 1/2 hour ago: Wigan expect to sign Delort soon after agreeing terms. Does this make it right, or lazy reporting?

Lazy reporting I think. He also signed an alleged 5 year deal with us, but if Tours can't agree the fee, then its no deal.

Never thought I'd get fed up with a transfer story involving my beloved cafc , but this one has run longer than an eastenders who dun it storyline ! Wish it could be sorted one way or the other !!! Is he really that special to create all this fuss ?

According to BP, Wolves have offered more for Delort, although if you believe Sky Wigan have sorted it. It probably happen until Monday, as the Tours owner said he will not go until the last day. It would be ironical, if after all this, who ever he signs for fails him on his medical.

It's blatantly clear we need one or two more players if we want to seriously challenge for promotion this season. Bulot should mean the midfield is sorted, now we just need another forward, a loanee goalkeeper, loan Pope out and life will be good.
Some things i've noticed:
1. Vetokele is clearly our answer to goals. If he gets injured we are in trouble. 2. Tucudean will probably score around 10 in all competitions. 15 if he's REALLY lucky. 3. Church is playing well because he knows there is competition and his future international career is at stake. 4. Pope is not anywhere NEAR good enough for this level, may never be either. 5. We've got to start keeping some clean sheets. It's all well and good to score goals, but you also need to prevent goals from being scored. 6. Bikey is great. 7. The summer recruits, as a whole, are very good and definitely up to this level.
I think we absolutely need to go up this season or next, otherwise players like Gomez, Vetokele and Gundmundsson will be looking to move on.

No way is the midfield sorted,we have Jackson starting games, that is not good enough and is showing in the amount of possession we are handing to are opponents,we need better in the middle of the park no doubt about it.
Partly the reason we concede so many is because the midfield can't keep the ball for any great period and take the pressure off are defence.
In my mind centre mid is the real problem area now, and wing backs are poor also from what I have seen, on both sides.

I agree Yorkshire, we need a central midfielder alongside Buyens who can take the game by the scruff of the neck, Jackson is a sitting duck at the moment. Wiggins is weak also and Solly not half the player he was.

I think he would be far too good for championship defences, if we could put him on the left we could then either put Cousins in the middle for Jackson or just drop Cousins, because he was awful yesterday.

Charlton set to swoop for Darren Bent on loan
By Sam Rourke ⋅ September 2, 2014 ⋅Post a comment
Filed Under Aston Villa, charlton, darren bent
Charlton Athletic are interested in moving for former Addicks striker Darren Bent when the loan window opens, reports the Sevenoaks Chronicle.
Bent is a target for Charlton on loan The 30-year-old currently plays for Premier League side Aston Villa, however he has endured a torrid time at the Midlands club since 2011. Bent spent last season on loan at Fulham, making 24 appearances and scoring three goals during his time there. The former England international was a fan favourite during his spell at the Valley, and he amassed 68 appearances whilst scoring 31 goals. In 2007, Bent left the London club to sign for Tottenham for a club record £16.5 million fee.
Can't imagine it to be true, but who knows!

Not wrong there Al but if Villa are prepared to pay most of his wages the big questions will be as to whether he can maintain full fitness and how much pace has he lost?
His trademark run was where he ran an arc which hopefully ended with the ball bring slid through just before he ran offside. He needed pace and athleticism which may now have long gone!

Yes, very true John, but even if he is 90% of what he was when we had him last, it will be fun watching him and Igor scare the shit out of opposition defences.
Can't imagine it will happen though.

Bent would be an outstanding signing at our level. He's a goalscorer who's lost his way a bit, but even at Villa he's scored 21 in 57 appearances. He'd rip the Championship a new one.
Can't see it happening though. He was in the 16 for Villa at the weekend and came on as a late sub.

Villa have Benteke and Libor Kozak coming back from injury, so when they're fit again Bent could find himself out of the squad and Villa could be prepared to let him go.
