We’re definitely more competent defending, but apparently at the expense of anything going forwards.
Anderson and Docherty aren’t going to open up any defences. Not unless it’s a battle of who can run the furthest. Then they might have a chance.
Dull game. Very much the first game of the season.

Look fairly solid at the back, slightly overrun in midfield, subs for us might be the difference second half.

I think we done ok protected our keeper well .. think Coventry and Doc have been very good , Anderson not sure where he suppose to be playing and Campbell not really been in and really needs to read Adhame flicks he put through 3/4 now that we not picked up on .. but overall think we can be pleased with first half… like to see Kanu on for Campbell

Hell yes…..how long have I been saying the same thing…..We need that creative runner with the ball…..Anderson is not that player… Adhadme is playing up top on his own trying to win headers for no one to run onto On the positive front we have pressed very well and looked very organised defensively |

If the SMT are serious about wanting promotion, they surely need to back Jones a bit more. Jones needs to show how he manages the game with half time talk and subs on the hour mark. Can see Aneke, Small, Berry and Kanu making a difference. Wigan offering more bite than Portsmouth last week but that was obviously a friendly. A draw would be OK but let's not rush to judge the squad after just one game. We're not a top four side, and were never going to become that overnight. But are we on the way to challenging for a play off place? |
