Ahadme not holding the ball up well atm. Looks a bit off the pace to me. Let’s the defender get the foot in. Coventry needs to learn to turn on the ball (when he can). Seems to pass straight back to defenders too much. Sometimes not his fault as he has too many around him but others times he needs to know what’s around him. To be fair he missed couple of weeks .. with a slight injury |

Very poor defending there. Wimbledon score from a cut back. Very easy.
Agree with Dick. This team doesn’t seem like it has lots of goals in open play. We’re not going to tear a team apart with this line up. Could see us as a threat from set pieces though.
This formation relies on the wingbacks a lot. We haven’t brought them into the game enough this game.

Took me an hour to realise Connor Coventry is on the pitch!!
So much receiving the ball in space back to goal just passing it straight back where it came from.
Totally unimpressed so far.

Regardless of the result, I’m left feeling a little bit flat after this performance. Not where I’d hoped we would be at this point in pre-season.

Can't see any goal threat out there at all at the moment and defence still looks suspect. Like what I've seen of Edwards so far though. I'm still unsure about Lloyd Jones.
As much as we need goal threats midfield doesn't look controlled to me.
I admit Coventry making some strange choices with passes but he is always there to receive the pass. He's never going to be an overly exciting player though.
All very lacklustre to be honest. I know it's only preseason but they should be almost there by now at this stage. They don't look ready.
As Brown said the one time Edwards wasn't tracking there right sided player they score.

His first touch and passing at times is annoying me. First touch poor and passes at times might get to their target but they are too slow and the balls bouncing. So the receiving player has to get it under control due to the poor quality ball. Slowing everything down. Needs to step his game. Getting less impressed by him by the game. Might be a bit harsh for pre-season but he came in as a high profile signing. Hasn’t shown it enough yet |

No goals in them and too lightweight both individually and collectively.

Poor play from Campbell got to stop the cross coming in .. Something that TC needs to learn lacks aggression and awareness. He won't get away with that under this manager |

All the chit chat about what technology we have brought into the club to help us identify new players for our scouts to look at and we still can't nail down an attacking midfielder who knows how to run at players and create chances for himself and others around him. Coventry, Berry and Docherty all seem to do the same thing so let's sign Bishop for him to join in and do the same!!
We have an embarrassment of numbers at the moment but the squad itself is still lacking a cutting edge. You could draw a straight line from the keeper, through the heart of the defence and central midfield with it ending up front and we need a central player in every department.
It might just be me but I think we are so fragile up top. We might have the personell but Aneke will last as long as he normally does, Miles could breakdown and we don't know how reliable Ahadme's fitness is based on him being in and out so far.

The biggest thing for me if how we respond to this. It’s only pre-season but if we have another game like this then we’re not looking good. If we bounce back with a better performance then we can write this one off.
Would’ve liked to have seen more cohesion in the team. Hopefully the line ups are Nathan mixing it up as neither looked good or balanced.

Guessing it just one of them things. It's not good enough today but this will give Jones a lot to think about it. One thing is for sure is we need to get the two wing backs in the game more because that where a lot of are creative is going to come from.
Positive is Luke Berry kept finding pockets of space but we did not find him with a pass that happened to many times.

Only saw the last 40 mins. Positives - we are looking to play quicker from the back, Manion collecting crosses, more minutes in the legs. That's about it.

A really poor and disjointed performance. No doubt we will get, the getting used to each other, fitness or learning excuses, but I can't believe NJ will be anything other than angry with those players behind closed doors. The lack of creativity a real worry. Pompey could be quite a test now, because pre-season or not, there needs to be a reaction.

A bit of Deja vue from last season….opposition score from their first real attempt at goal, whilst we miss our chances……Mannion came for all his crosses but hardly got his gloves dirty and we lose two nil…..
We need that creativity and goals in the middle of the park…..players ideal for us seem to be going or earmarked for our competition……
Mitchell should be playing in the middle of the three not on the right……Edwards did ok but hardly got forward…..
We defended so poorly for both goals we might as well play 4 at the back and have a diamond with a 10 at the top, at least we will play more in the opposition half…..as soon as Gillesphey got it he hoofed it diagonally 40 yards down the pitch…..
For me at present we are a 10th placed side still lacking that quality in key areas to be a top 6 side……….
