Exactly why season tickets are going to be a hard sell. EFL killing the goose that laid the golden egg. All the clubs have sold out for the guaranteed TV money. They have, probably, assumed that most fans will put up with it - which is a fair shout as the Premier League clubs sold their sole years ago and they are raking it in and have full stadia for, almost, every game. I suspect that season ticket sales won't be effected too much this season, and the odd fan that chooses not to buy a ticket for the odd game won't cost anywhere near as much as the TV revenue. Sadly it's the future. How else can clubs in League One pay their CEOs hundreds of thousands of pounds a year?

So comforting to know that our gates will go down as the EFL sell out to the US viewers.

The simple solution to this is to allow TV coverage of 3pm Saturday matches then early/late kick off times wouldn’t be needed.

The simple solution to this is to allow TV coverage of 3pm Saturday matches then early/late kick off times wouldn’t be needed. There is a risk, however, that many fans will choose to watch all the games on the tele and then the clubs revenues will fall. This way season ticket holders that watch the odd game at home have already paid for their ticket. Equally those that chose to come to games and pay on the day don’t have as much of a decision to make if it’s not on the tele. The bigger risk is that in the long term all fans will support one of the top six and watch them on the tele every week and then lower league clubs might, really, struggle.
