www.charltonafc.com/news/mens-academy-squad-updateCharlton Athletic can now confirm their end-of-season men’s academy squad update. The club have taken up a one-year option on Oliver Hobden’s contract and have offered new deals to fellow U21s Ryan Huke and Seydil Toure. The following U21s players, whose contracts are set to expire this summer, have not been offered a new contract: Prince Adegoke, Jason Adigun, Nazir Bakrin, Matt Dench, Ralfi Hand, Tolu Ladapo, Henry Molyneux, Chibike Okechukwu, Jacob Roddy, Jeremy Santos, Ryan Viggars, Euan Williams. The following U18s players will leave the club this summer: James Batt, Mikey Berry, David Danso, Brook Myers, Harmony Okwumo, Jadon Yamoah. James Batt, Chibike Okechukwu and Ryan Viggars will return to Charlton in July to continue their rehabilitation from long-term injuries. Once fit, they will leave the club. The club would like to wish every player who is leaving the very best of luck for the future and thank them for their efforts during their time with Charlton. An update on the club’s new intake of first-year scholars will be announced in due course.

That's quite a list we are letting go.
Bit surprised with Bakrin and Adigun. Both looked quite good whenever I say them play.
Edit: Very few left after this

Edit: Very few left after this I am not at all surprised by Bakrin or Adigun. I have stated on here that the U21s are not up to it. I hear that Harmony Akwumo has been offered a contract at a Club higher up the food chain.

The statement makes it sound like we have released him. Did we not offer him a contract so we get compensation if someone else takes him on?

Good to see the club communicating with the fans on a much more imformative scale.
As @dickplumb previously mentioned, those U21's who have been let go, have failed to break into the first team squad. The basis of the current U18's now have the opportunity to grow and they do seem to me, to be a much more talented bunch.

It seems they've got it about right and we are hanging on to the right players.

I don't know whether he was offered a new contract and he refused to sign it. But he is a very decent player and if we could, I am sure we would have tried to keep him. The wording is akin to left by mutual consent. He is now a Norwich player.

Jacob Roddy. Isn't that the son of the chap that worked for us and was accused of trying to shoehorn his son into club academies, by Reading fans?
Evidently he wasn't quite up to the third division. I think his Dad went to FIFA, I wonder if they have an academy there?
