Had to happen. If you don't get dropped when you are not playing well it sends out the wrong message, especially if other players do. Give him the last 20 minutes if we need to stretch them

Bit OTT that isn't it? Criminal? Some people might be blinded by his goals in the first half of the season but back then he was more of a poacher. Now he's being asked to do a bit more with the ball I think it's obvious that he isn't a great carrier of it and just can't outpace defenders. He isn't a 10 and he isn't a winger. Fair enough the service to him has dried up but there was a couple of crosses the other night that he should have got on the end of. Not over the top at all, his recent failure is not down to him. You are right he is more of a poacher which was working well, you are also right he is not a No 10 or a winger, you are also right that he has been starved of service but that is down to Charlie and his boys completely fcuking us over with their cheap skate, ridiculous recruitment policy and not down to an individual player who has been the only success in a piss poor season. Instead of pointing to "cheapskate" or "ridiculous recruitment", surely the issue was that we were playing a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with our head coach playing May on the right wing FFS! They've addressed that by bringing in a decent manager AND shifting to 3-5-2. Jones now uses ALL four strikers to cover the 100 minutes. Just that May no longer first choice - perhaps fourth in the pecking order but things change, don't they. Not saying all is well and we're out of the woods. Not by a long chalk. But we don't have square pegs in round holes AND the centre backs, keeper and midfield all looking stronger.

I’m sorry but there’s no way this lot can be called cheap stakes either.
We spent quite a lot in January. Especially when you consider how few transfers there were in general. The prem was basically dead and that filtered down to the other leagues.

Yes, we have spent money, mostly on one player but seeing how we have been unsuccessfully trying to spend an additional 500k the last two windows, our winless run, our league position, duff loan players, freebies, being reliant on our young players, players still not fit etc I would argue we needed to spend more, far more and cover the positions where we lost players and not overload an area where we had it covered. Where they have done well is bring in a decent manager but that is at the third attempt. Just to make it clear I am not knocking the owners, they are the innocent party in all this but I am calling out the whole of the SMT who are totally to blame for the mess we are in and they have certainly tried to do things on the cheap.

Fair enough. I agree the recruitment has been unbalanced. Some of that was likely due to giving up on Coventry and then finding out he did want to stay in London. We paid for Reg, Gillesphey, Ramsay and quite a bit for Connor. So I wouldn’t say we spent just on one player. Not quite sure what you mean by in the cheap. As you say we’ve now also gone for an expensive manager. I don’t think we had the options of managers when we hired Appleton. He must’ve been 3rd/4th choice at best. Nathan wasn’t available then.

I didn't say we spent on one player, I said "mostly", meaning a large chunk on what was spent was on Coventry. I doubt the others were very expensive and the money recouped from CBT would have dealt with most of that.

Got told tonight that May walked straight down the tunnel after the Bolton game while the rest of teh squad and teh staff went over to applaud the fans.
I wouldn't lose an ounce of sleep if we got rid over the summer. Infact it would be my top priority.
Just isn't the all round striker we all thought he was and we can do much better.

Ridiculous to suggest the priority in the summer is to get rid.

Top priority is to get a proper No. 10 creative, playmaker who also chips in with goals, then all our strikers will benefit.

Top priority is to get a dominant centre half with leadership skills.

Top priority is to get a proper No. 10 creative, playmaker who also chips in with goals, then all our strikers will benefit. I, actually, think that May, Leaburn, Ladapo and Kanu can be enough to get us into the top six. This is especially true if Aneke can take part in 30 plus games - obviously not playing 90 minutes. However, I think that Leaburn's sale has been factored in to the budgets. I, actually, believe that he would have been sold in January if he'd been playing and this summer could be an issue as he's clearly not going to play many games before the summer transfer window closes. I know not everyone will agree with this but, despite keeping Dobson, which cost us c. £100k plus some wages, letting Miles leave for nothing, next summer, would be insane. I can see his agent advising him to sign for a club that does not have to pay compensation (like Aribo) and then someone would have to cover the c. £5m that we keep hearing someone will pay for him. Then the Agent and the player would share the c. £3m signing on bonus.
