What is it with our owners, over the years no-one seems prepared to invest in a decent manager. For christ sake they've got to bring in someone with some sort of ability, were becoming a complete joke, it's been going on year after year with no sign of progress. Why have our owners bought the club, because they ain't going to make money, unless they spend a decent amount on a quality manager with a decent squad. I've been a fan since the 1950s and I'm right pissed off!

Ignore the forum WUM’s & Clipboard Clive’s, and stop giving SE7 Partners your money until they start learning some hard lessons. I’ll be back for the Portsmouth home game & a handful of aways at grounds I’ve yet to tick off. The rest can go f**k themselves. Paying to watch that dross each week almost makes you complicit with the mediocrity that runs through this club like dry rot.

As the club is on the rocks time for desperate measures what I like to see not going to happen of course because it would be the right thing to do is get Allardyce in with Sammy Lee, get rid of the deadwood and players who do not want to be here. Get decent players in with cash, free transfers and loans. Let Allardyce and Lee manage the players. Didn't work for Leeds who had money to spend and they haven't been languishing in the middle of the 3rd tier for years with no sight of any improvement... If some of the new manager ideas being floated here recently were put forward by certain people here, the amount of ridicule would be huge with accusations of WUMing and worse. But then we slip into Shrodinger's Charlton Paradox of anyone that does join is at all times all and neither a "cheap option/no experience/journey man won nothing done nothing/living off one good season/only coming for the money/yes man/too experienced dinosaur/tactically naive/stuck to a formation/trying to be too clever and thinks he's Pep/too much Charlton of a Charlton legend/nothing to do with Charlton so no understanding." Take your pick from those...

Then they're bloody mad, people with any sense don't put in millions hoping to be lucky and make a quick buck, it's crazy they've no chance. All they have to do is look at our record over the last 15yrs and compare it with teams that have got out of league 1 and gone on to be a success. They had decent managers and investment.

Paying to watch that dross each week almost makes you complicit with the mediocrity that runs through this club like dry rot. Our club has been in decline since Dowie replaced Curbs back in 2006 - 17 and a half years ago. Thousands have taken your advice over the years and stopped going. However, CAFC only continues to run thanks to ticket revenue, sponsors, player sales and owners funding £6-8M of losses every year. Your personal entitlement to success at our club suggests that hundreds of thousands of fans up and down the country are complicit in their clubs' inability to secure promotion every season. Then again it's not wrong to question why we bother. Take a look at Wrexham chasing their second successive promotion. And they'll no doubt compete for players we're chasing. They make nothing from their Welcome to Wrexham programme... except the good news story, their 5M social media followers and the successful management have all contributed to an estimated £20M turnover this season. Yes. Twenty. Million. Pounds! So we might walk away. Or even encourage others to do same. But any attack on the club damages its existence. And any protest designed to make the club unmanageable is complicit in making the club unsellable! What right thinking billionaire will take on this entitlement and sheer spite?! Please don't mistake this as a call to quieten fans voices. For the SMT surely need to be aware of fan feeling. Step one is to improve the squad this month, ideally this week. And if Appleton can't deliver a win later in the month with new talent plus injured players back then he needs to go.

And if Appleton can't deliver a win later in the month with new talent plus injured players back then he needs to go. It’s not about personal entitlement Kevin , it’s about basic standards. I’ve supported us H&A in the third tier for longer than I care to think about , it’s why I’ve ticked off 76 grounds watching us (have you ?) What I can’t abide is the way standards and ambitions at the club have shrunken to frozen pea - sized levels since Curbs or even Bowyer’s day, to the extent that the only thing truly world class about CAFC these days is the level of bullshit that comes out of the manager & SMT’s mouths. Clapping the likes of Fraser & Hector off, or sitting there with your clipboard during the game making five bar gates of our Xg, may do it for some, but 20,000 plus other have had enough.

Lampard still out of work? Gerrard has not done too well so far. Those names usually mentioned anytime Rooney is. Cant be any worse than what we have. 😄

Cost of sacking Appleton?. Sacking any manager involves paying x months notice as per the contract. So this cost is built in unless we keep Appleton until the end of his deal. And this cost is buttons compared to the value of CAFC should we secure promotion. Therefore the real questions are can Appleton take us to the top six? And if not, at what point should he be replaced. Then add to that the following: what would it take for Scott (plus SMT and investors) to make that call? When we factor that in, it becomes clear that Scott and Appleton need to navigate this window. New talent arrives, but do we improve? The pressure will surely build every week we fail to end this winless run.

If the board decided to sack Appleton after letting Scott chose both him and Holden I can't not see Scott being far behind on collecting a P45. Poor transfers and awful coach selection. I actually liked Holden at the beginning because he went back to basics and it worked but then he tried to be clever and it failed.
Personally can't see Appleton going as much as I don't think he is anywhere near the manager we need. But he needs to do loads now to win back both the fans and the players. Personally don't think he cares enough to give a fuck what the fans think so hopefully he's on a short contract or one we can end early.

My heart tells me to keep hoping my head tells me Appleton just doesn’t work at our club. I think the board needs to see this and act quickly to bring Michael Duff in before the terraces become deserted. Then we will be playing oh will we see Johnny and Jane this week ? No they decided to go shopping instead. Our owners and Scott need to wake up and smell the coffee and get a manager in this week and let him bring some much needed players on or we may find ourselves in League 2 next season and then we will need a very different type of player personnel because that is a totally different brand of football.
OWNERS AND SCOTT TECOGNISE YOUR MISTSKE WITH THIS WRONG MANAGERIAL APPOINTMENT SND GO GET MICHAEL DUFF WHO KNOWS THIS LEAGUE AND CAN GET A TUNE OUT OC PLAYERS WHO PLAY IN IT !!!!!!!!

We are not M A haters we just want the best for our club. He clearly is not a manager who can see the obvious I.E playing the league one leading goalscorer out wide right when as stats show he was up until this the best goalscorer with the highest ratio of goals per minute in the whole of the league. Any other team would change from a 4-3-3 into a 4-2-3-1 or a 4-4-2 to get the most out of Alfie . This is not rocket science at all ( and I have coached at semi pro level ) - it is just so strikingly obvious so much so it is about as obvious that we are not on a tropical island. But this is where MA should take his team selections they are bizarre !!!!!!!!!

Heard a rumour from a reliable source that Jason Euell is being considered as our next Manager.
Please Noooo. We need a decent manager who knows his way around these lower Divisions.
John Eustace, Gary Rowett or Nathan Jones would be my choice.
