CBT agent saying on Twitter Appleton isn’t to blame 🤔 You can’t legislate for individual errors - and we make a lot, and you can’t legislate for players who are just basically not very good. I’d include our entire back 4/5 in that category. They are bum footballers. Gillesphey worries me on what I have seen so far, and Lloyd Jones is starting to make Inniss look like Rio Ferdinand. Where Appleton can’t be given a pass is in his lack of basic organisation. The spaces between defence / midfield / attack. The space down our flanks (their second goal last night 🤦♂️). Our utter shit ness at free kicks & corners - repetitive drills on the training ground should take care of these. These all point to a poor coach / manager.

Shall we blame your player then flomsie? for not tracking back, for not looking up for the easy pass to a team m8? With that being said I hope it works out well for CBT, just wish these fucking agents would keep their opinions to themselves.

Gillesphey Looked poor to me Seriously? After one game in a disorganised team? We have so many qualified scouts in our fan base apparently. We should just employ them. They just need a 30 second clip of the player to decide if he's any good.

www.flashscore.co.uk/match/ba6VzATP/#/match-summary/lineupsNot sure who gives those ratings for the players. I think 5.0 for Edun is harsh. Tennai Watson our best player with 7.3 and in spite of his own goal McGowan got man of the match, with their players in general rated a lot better than ours.

Paul Hurst appointed Shrews boss. I think Duff was heavily linked to that role before.

Edun hasn't got the physicality I'm afraid to play even at this level. He's far too easily pushed off the ball. He hasn't got great pace either. Reminds me of little of Jay Dasilva, just nowhere near as good. Tennai Watson has improved, but is still not good enough. In my opinion we still need a GK. CH, CF who can hold the ball up. A Creative attacking midfielder and a wingback or winger with pace. I don't think we'll get these. Too many midfielders with the same attributes. Why the F did we sign Fiorini? Really hope I'm wrong.

Rowett for me, or Eustace/Duff after that. Jones is a wildcard. It could be inspired or another disaster. I think there's a reason why no other club has touched him since Southampton gave him the boot. 'Rowett for me, or Eustace/Duff after that.' So you mean Eustace or Duff come in in September? ;-)

Even though it never nice seeing someone lose their job Apples was clearly not the caliber manager we need.
I put the case forward for Michael Duff.
1) Clearly proven in this division.
2) Built a great team spirit at Cheltenham, got promoted from league 2 and was very competitive in league one with Cheltenham and avoided relegation comfortably and you could say prospered with the limited resources at his disposal.
3) Managed Barnsley last season and having seen them play in 7 occasions whilst visiting family I witnessed a really competitive, well above average league 1 team and performances. Attractive, committed football to watch. Even outplayed Sheff Wed in final and think if they hadn’t lost the player in first 20mins of final would have beat Sheff Wed that day.
4) Clearly can motivate players and clearly has the tactical nous.
5) No weight should be given to Swansea appointment - was never going to fit. All this the “the Swansea way” you immediately are on a loser if you try to implement your style of football which has been successful into a team and supporter base that doesn’t have the flexibility to accept it and run with it. So that was the wrong club for a manager who has built up proven way of playing 3-5-2. Which happens to coincide with what we should be playing with the players we have at our disposal. Michael Duff works in league 1 with a 3-5-2 and and hence we should go all out to appoint him ASAP ( Before somebody else sees the merits in having him as their manager ).

1. Not Chris Powell. He did well when he rebuilt the whole team, but in the first half-season, although we won the first 4 the run after that was terrible. If Phil Parkinson had not got us near the playoffs with that team we'd have gone down on that run. Phil Parkinson has subsequently proved to be a good manager, taking Bradford from 18th in League Two to the playoffs in League One with a League Cup Final and an FA Cup quarter final along the way, before taking Bolton up and now he's doing quite well at Wrexham. He failed at Sunderland but that's all. 2. Lee Bowyer was losing it towards the end, but did keep Birmingham up that season. I don't think he'd get on with Scott. In general he did ok with Steve Gallen. It was after Bowyer left that Gallen's quality of signing went downhill, albeit we did bring in some poor players along the way even under Bowyer. 3. Defence is our key issue at the moment. We have conceded the 2nd highest number of goals in League One after Fleetwood. Our goal difference is only -2 indicating we are scoring enough. Watching last night, bad decision making cost us the 1st and 3rd of the goals. Decision making is a key part of the game, the players need training on it. 4. I want a good professional manager / coach. I don't care if he's ever had a previous connection with Charlton Athletic, or any rival club, as long as he can do a good job here. I swear , if I hear / read far king Chris Powell once more I’m going to go mad ! He’s not very good ffs !! All this man love for him ffs get over it 200%, it does my nut in!

Don't go to the other place then. The man love for him is pathetic. other place then. The man love for him is pathetic. The same dozen or so oddball's were craving for Ladapo to rock up because of the player he was two season's ago!. Oddball's who are living in the past.

I think whoever we get need to get the supporters on side quick and the players playing for their life, and if that is an ex player or manager i don't really care.
A manager needs a couple of years in my eyes to sort things out properly (Exception is MA and glad he has gone), as things stand we may as well of stuck with Jonny Jackson as there has been no improvement since by chopping and changing!.

I recall we were looking at other players and then got Ladapo. If there was one advantage of taking the Cheltenham player, it makes them weaker so they're less likely to pull out.
Is Scott's main role in player recruitment or in picking the tactics on the pitch?
In any case I'd like our manager to come in right now, so he can take charge against Blackpool which is still 4 days before the deadline closes, and put it to the board exactly the positions that need filling urgently so we don't get relegated.

Judging new players after one match - that way madness lies. Appleton gone - good, we now need to concentrate on getting the right man in and soon. I would prefer someone young and dynamic than an older has been, but it needs to be the right manager to get the best out of what we have now as I don't think there will be much more player recruitment this window.

Well jones favours a 442 diamond and duff plays a 3-5-2 both which suit the players we have. Be happy with either of those . Don’t want another dinosaur like Pearson . Might cost a few quid but we need someone special

Good afternoon everyone
I am new user been a fan since 1967 aged 12 and like the majority of people have seen plenty of ups and downs but currently this it’s about the lowest I have felt since I have been supporting the club. Glad Appleton was sacked as he did not fill me with any hope that we would improve if anything the club is sliding quite alarmingly backwards think a large proportion of blame should be directed towards the people who appointed him. His tactics were dire and some of his substitutions made no sense at all. How does anyone else feel. Looking forward to communicating with you all.COYRs
