I'm sorry but who seriously thinks it would be wise to get rid of Appleton AND Scott with a week left in January? Appleton yes. If you let Scott go as well, then we're fucked for any more signings. That would be stupid.
Anyone calling for this at this time must be happy with our squad as is then?

My take on that is more like they can't get into denying anything that gets floated on a message board. If the Directors of any company came out and denied, or confirmed, any social media rumours they would soon find that they were doing it all day long or the rumours would be believed because the business didn't deny them. I, actually, think that is the more professional approach. Louis Mendez released a statement on Sunday that confirmed the club had told him that Appleton hadn't been sacked. Monday Appleton gave a press conference and confirmed that he hadn't been sacked. We should all accept that as the truth unless we are told otherwise. If not, the club will end up having to deny his sacking every time a rumour gets started. I appreciate that you believe what you were told, Reams, and I'm sure that Dubai on CL does also, and that the people who told you are credible. However, the normal direction of travel would end up with twelve year olds starting rumours and Senior Directors having to come out and deny it. Sooner or later they would be releasing denials all day long. The professional approach is to ignore social media rumours and never comment on them. The info I received didn't originate from social media rumours though mate. If it had, I would have treated it as such. Sure, I recognise that but as soon as you put it on here it’s a rumour on social media. Anything less than giving your actual sources (which I don’t expect you to do) and it is, effectively, a rumour. The same can be said for Dubai on CL. The same can be said for Bexley Boy who doesn’t tell us where he gets his ‘facts’ from. I’m not doubting you, just saying that the club can’t come out and deny everything. The elephant in the room is, of course, the fact that after multiple, credible, sources saying that Appleton had been (past tense) sacked and had gone he gave a press conference at the club confirming that he hadn’t. |

We should have kept him until the end of the season. I don't agree with keeping players who don't want to be here. Some players will give 100% every time they are in the team but others will not, CBT strikes me as the type who would not bust a gut for a team he doesn't want to be at! |

I get that but the player was not going to sign a contract and was very keen to go as he picked up a mystery injury stopping him playing for us which tells its own story… I am pretty sure that this mystery injury will be clear by Saturday So we keep a player who clearly didn’t want to play for for us anymore when we can get upwards of $300k for him which can go back into the team. I would imagine the terms we offered him would have been similar to Derby but he was keen to move up there with a much better chance of panting championship football next season I am not really sure what more the club could have done about this, |

We did not let him go .. he told the club in December he was not interested in staying and wanted to move back north .. his form was terrible and he even refused to play at home to Peterbro … whatever club suppose to do  |

Who hired him? Who thought it was a good idea? He has been a standing joke on various CAFC forums for years, and some bright spark thought it would be a good idea to employ him. In my opinion, it would be a good idea to throw some stick at the idiot, who gave him his contract? You can blame Appleton for being totally out of his depth, but you cannot blame him for taking the job. Everyone bar Bexley knew he was the wrong appointment; I just don't get it.
