I used to watch Brentford when Harlee Dean was a slower version of Carl Tiler. No. Alfie May. No. Palace guy, Banks. Yes. Moxon. Yes. But we need younger guys on the up rather than mediocre players at our, or a lower level. Bielik, if only. Also need to sign Kone, Casey and Labeqereta. Strikers are the key. If we go 4-3-3 all need to be quick. If we go 2 up top, assuming Miles is here, his partner needs to be able to hold the ball up. Tyler Walker, Kabo Tsimanga or both. Agyei could be decent also. We need to look in Roland's territory of minor North European leagues. Brentford not done bad there. Sam's Hoskins and Smith, one in four at best for a lower level. Please!!! Get real. Can see Mitchell alongside Dobbo to free Fraser forwards and see if he is worth paying him almost 50% more than last year's contracted strikers. I always view your posts with interest and I note there is a heavy slant on introducing the youngsters into the team…. Which is not a bad thing but they must be ready….Ness and AMB were ready but Kanu and Henry proved last season that they wasn’t ready You advocate putting Mitchell in the midfield with Dobson and Fraser? All about opinions I know but that midfield is not getting us into the top 6 IMO And you say no to Alfie May who has scored regularly at this level in a bang average side… this is the type of goal scorer we need

Thinking outside of the box for a minute. It might be worth taking a look at the men behind the creativity at Cambridge over the last couple of seasons. Not only did Smith score 14 times last season, Paul Mullin scored 26 the season before that so they are clearly doing something right in the final third and like I say it's well worth casting an eye over the players who have been providing the opportunities for two of their strikers to net 40 goals beween them in 92 games.

Always rated Brophy, excellent left peg

Great point! I know Harvey Knibbs is on a few Championship clubs radar! Or even look at the recruiters who got them in!

Some valid points there Vaangard but I will have to disagree ie Sam Smith. He is among one of the best forwards in the league that we could attract. He is versatile for a start, a left footed player who can play on the right or as a No9. Giving us good cover should we need it. He is still only 25 so not even hit his prime yet. He has hit double figures in his last two seasons. Specifically this season in a underwhelming Cambridge team! He is a real poacher and a bag of energy, a perfect match up for Leaburn in my opinion. Just take a look at the kind of goals he has scored over the last two years will tell you this! Don't be fooled by the Cambridge tag..! Exciting summer ahead! Get your drift BR but as you said he is a poacher. Not in your face. Often described as a no 10. Less than one in three in his pomp. A clever player no doubt but I believe we need forwards who are going to put the shits up defenders.

Very true. Although that is the way of football fans isn't it? Fickle is the nature of fans. A player can be held with great regard (songs chanted for him etc) and then he mentions he's leaving and joining a rival and he's overnight gone to public enemy no. 1. He'll still get chants but they will have a different tone!

Mate it’s always highly entertaining……….a couple of years back when Wigan had a bit of dough and started assembling a team to get them out of league one which they did successfully, their signings according to some were over the hill has beens etc ….they even mugged us off with Jason Kerr who was enroute to us but turned off the M6 slightly earlier than planned 😂😂 Our signings though were according to some great, we got in the highly talent Sam Lavelle as Kerrs repkacement, a fantastic bit of business 😳 Look where Wigan ended up that year and where we ended up….😂😂…… think this year will be different though and I think Wigan will go straight down through the leagues

While Im on the subject of my local club, big talk has emerged again today about Alfie May coming here along with an unamed Championship player. They have big wedge to spend after this announcement yesterday. They teased Wrexham fans all day thinking they had changed their name to Wrexham United! Some sponsor that is.

Possibly a daft question, but if we can only bring in players on loan and free until its all finalised and approved, how have we put in a bid for May? I'd assume players like him and other top targets would rather get signed up early doors by clubs, unless there's some sort of loophole or they are willing to wait and trust that we will be able to bring them in?

I don't think it can be made official until ratified by the EFL. However, nothing to stop agreements being made pending the confirmation. Didn't Derby announce loads of signings the day they were taken over (officially)?

But good luck to them, they are a club that are at last being run correctly by owners who care. Rich owners but not mega rich but who have the where with all and contacts to bring others on board. In short they have created a fun bus and people and businesses want to hop on for the ride. We could do worse than take down a few notes.

Expecting Scott Banks to be announced pretty early. He looks pretty good, although similar to Fraser in that forward role with a good left foot - do you think they will play him on the right? I take it a loan?

Have a quite a few contacts inside Wrexham Football Club as you all know and one of them has told me in the last half an hour that they were preparing a bid for Alfie May but have been told the player wants to sign for Charlton. Happy days if true.

I take it a loan? He predominantly played on the right for Bradford, allowing him to cut onto his left foot. Looks to have a wand of a left foot. Would be a solid loan in my opinion.

Does this mean we’ll be going 4-4-2 next season or can he play out wide? Either way, shows intent and a definite step in the right direction.

Would be a good first signing of the new era,a coveted striker that would add some MUCH needed bite.

They seem to have done what Sandgaard kept talking about - bringing in much more Commerical revenue. Having said that the two actors are as famous as Sandgaard things he is and wants to be. It is a little bit of a dream come true for Wrexham. They, clearly, chose the right club, at the right time.

They have a 10000 stadium that will be 15500 by this time next year. They have sold 7000 S/T's so have another 7k or 8k wanting 3000 tickets.
