Who would it be?
What I mean by this is two centre backs who played together, two midfielders and two strikers.
Would have to be Hunt and Mendonca for me although Parker and Kinsella would be right behind them.

I remember reading that Andy Hunt liked playing alongside Martin Pringle, even though he didn’t get that many himself.

A more recent pairing I’d love to see again would be Taylor and Aherne-Grant.. pace and craft with quality added in…

Good one this. Think it would be Rufus & Youds for me. I know we’ve had better centre backs than Youds but it just worked well. Few other honourable mentions like Wiggins at left back with Jackson left mid. Keith Jones & Mark Kinsella were great and also thought Whyte & Nelson worked well. Good memories.

For sure Mendonca and Hunty goals galore Andy would’ve had a great premiership career if illness hadn’t got him.

How many games did Mendonca and Hunt play together? In my head Hunt was slightly after Mendonca.

Scott Parker and Claus Jensen. Those two dominated many premier League midfields.

Scott Parker and Claus Jensen. Those two dominated many premier League midfields. This is the answer for me. They'd sort us right out in the midfield.

Johnny Summers and Sam Lawrie. I guess many on here would not have seen these two play but they were superb together. Summers played for the club from 1956 to 61, making 171 league appearances and scoring 100 goals. He twice scored 5 in a match. Lawrie played for the club from 1956 to 63, making 193 appearances and scoring 70 goals. Lawrie holds the Charlton record for a winger, scoring 24 in a season. They didn't tend to record assists in those days but I can assure you he had hell of a lot. Sadly both passed away far too young.
