Why do members cancel their membership to this forum, instead of not posting until they are happy with the topics being posted? We keep losing members who seem to yo yo back and forth.

I think most would agree that the more people we have posting the better the forum. We have lost some very good members over the last few months and with the recent return of Dickplumb I thought the others may start to drift back but now he's gone again.

I think following Charlton comes with it's ebbs and flows, more flows than ebbs at the moment obviously. It's difficult to really get any good ITK information going as the regime this time around seem to be mostly watertight. I can't speak for every source but most of those who admitted to having the inside track had it from outside of the CAFC circle.
What you're left with is discussing/speculating about things that are going on - which currently is a below average footballing side (though better to follow under Holden I admit), and a takeover that seems never ending. I can see why this would be draining for some people in itself, without having the antagonisation of others bringing them down too.
It's the nature of forums to disagree with people so it should come with the territory. I was guilty of nibbling the bait far too much in the days of WLA's first return, which is the one and only time I've deleted my ITTV account. As to the original question of why would people repeatedly delete their account, I can only imagine it's to remove the temptation of logging back in and getting involved when it's not doing anything for them.
Anyway, for all of those notorious ITTV posters who have deleted, I think the forum is a lesser place without them so hope to see them again one day.

By the way I have a very strong Welsh connection so not being bias. There are only a certain of Charlton threads we can have though and they reduce even further givenm the complete and utter shit show that we have been over the wank stain of an owner. In the end it gets boring. We are a car crash of a football club that is just going backwards. We will be in L2 by 2025 I can assure you. The Wrexham thing does piss people off but I really don't understand why given what a breath of fresh air the owners have been to football. I am completely and utterly detached from CAFC while others stay loyal despite how shit we are. I have no doubt that if Charlton Athletic Football Club was not on it's knees and we all had something to sing and shout about on here, the Wrexham thing would just go over the top of most people's heads. |

Let’s really break it down. Reams is not really saying anything of value or that we haven’t heard at least 2000 times before from him. Every season he wants to shut down this forum, every manager and owner has been called a c..t or a prick and has ‘totally disconnected his love for cafc’ you only have to look historically at his posts to see his real desire it to antagonise and wind up the loyalty of the cafc fans. That is his legacy.
Yeah we have owners that suck, yeah we aren’t doing that great but some of us have the loyalty to see out this bad ride. He hasn’t -that his choice and his character. . I haven’t seen a single post begging him to reconsider his decision to leave. Why is it even a subject of discussion? Just leave, why the need for all this drama and fanfare?
Reams you have everything you want now at Wrexham. Go and enjoy a place where you fit in.
Give this forum exclusively to those that want to support cafc. If you cared anything about the club over your own ego you would walk away.
