Fingers crossed. Real shame that we got no movement in January as it's now in the lap of the injury gods as to whether we even manage to stay up this season - which I'm sure would completely change everything that may be planned We’re staying up for sure. It’s not like there’s something other than that shower of shite below us that will only win the occasional game. Because of our buffer we too only need to win the occasional game which will happen. We’re good this season. Long term who knows. If we enter administration we get a points penalty which could drag us down

The more this Valley/Sparrows Lane deal is passed from hand-to-hand the less likely it is to be paid in my opinion. £53million is an inflated valuation agreed by ESI only to sanction the takeover in the first instance having no intention to ever pay it. RD clearly believes somebody will pay it or else he would've negotiated it lower when dealing with Sandgaard. I don't really see a way out for us at this stage unless someone ultra wealthy wishes to make Charlton a passion project or like the Dell group, are willing to take out finance in order to secure the assets against such a loan which would just essentially change our landlord from RD to the new lenders. It also makes me think the club hitting administration with a clean slate might be the most likely outcome if this American deal doesn't materialise because somebody won't want to inherit a multi-million pound loss making business without any assets. League Two is a hell of a league to get out of with the salary cap so would likely be our future for the foreseeable. Really hope this takeover happens. As the £53m is not in the football club accounts it is likely that this is a personal agreement between Sandgaard and Duchâtelet, or his company. If this is the case the Administration would cost Sandgaard upwards of 80% of what le lent the club and he would still be on the hook for the £53m. What would make that worse is that he would, then, have to look to sell The Valley and training ground to the new owners and I can't see them offering to pay anything like £53m. Southall and Nimer fooled each other into believeing the other one was going to stump up £50m then Sandgaard was stupid enough to take that deal on (in his personal name) and we all know that £50m is way too high. Sandgaard is in real trouble if he can't find someone, with more money than sense, to bankroll his mistakes. Administration is, probably, the very worst outcome for him and it is him that would have to make that call. Agreed. And if we did go into administration I believe the directors who are owed £7m get first dibs. |

Ok I have recieved an update The Americans are still on the scene. The 53 million that Thomas signed up to as part of the ESI 1 deal has not been removed. The repayment plan was in installments £17 million was due to drop on 27th January as part of that deal but it was not paid. Unless a deal is done and proof of funds shown to the Duchatlet's they can reassign the loan to any new people. People are saying this is not in existence as it was removed but they are 100% wrong. This is the only deal that was ever agreed . The 1m per month payment to RD for rent is untrue. That agreement does not exist. The reason why it is 53 million in the first place is because TS renegotiated the ESI deal to meet other financials that RD wanted. He added 5mill to it. Bottom line is this.....Sandgaard is up shit creek without a paddle as are the club if he doesn't do a deal with the Americans. We are currently nose diving head first into a Coventry City situation. The Yanks (not necessarily those mentioned) have every penny of the 53 million ready to hand over, but won't do so unless TS reverts back to selling the 82% of the club that was agreed between both parties. They obviosly won't by the land without the club. RD is totally unimpressed that the first payment due on January 26th was defaulted on. Unless TS pays up which he cannot afford to do, the Valley & Sparrows Lane agreement becomes null and void. Sandgaard renaging on an agreed 18% deal will cost us our home. Thanks for the update Paul. There is one thing that really doesn’t make sense to me. Based on the information you’ve shared on the Forum, and what’s implied in a tweet by Peter Varney, Sandgaard is on the hook to Duchatelet for circa £50m. That liability does not show in the accounts of either CAFC Ltd or Clear Ocean Capital so it must be independent of his ownership of the Football Club. This is a surprise, but nevertheless possible. However, if there is a buyer who is willing to discharge that liability for him (or even half of it) then in exchange for doing so I’d expect them to insist on ownership of the entirety of the Football Club and to pay no more than £1. Why would they pay more? Sandgaard simply doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Not sure mate. Maybe it's possible that TS is insisting on retaining a share that reflects what he has put in. He asked for 18% but it stalled because having agreed he suddenly decided he wanted more. I told Rich Cawley he was wrong with the 10% he had been told earlier but I wonder if that's been reduced overnight because Sandgaard has recouped a few bob with the fire sale and wages off the books which has knocked a few zero's of his overall outlay? I dont know this by the way, it's not part of any information I have recieved, just my hunch. Perhaps the middle men have insisted he clear the decks and keep what money he makes in return for a lower percentage as part of a takeover? |

Once again this is just not true. If it was all I and my fellow mods would have to do is press a button and switch ITTV to members only and suddenly every one of our 1500 guests would have to become one!
Anyone who thinks I would put my reputation on the line for more traffic that I don't, and never have made a penny from, must be nuts!

Thanks for the updates,how wrong was i for sticking up for TS in the past,turned out no different than the others in the past,keep the updates its the only source of info i get living in thailand,whether things happen or not its good to hear I was fooled as well mate. I was so happy to see the back of Farnell. Southall, Nimer and Elliott I refused to believe how dodgy Sandgaard was. I should have listened. |

I find it hard to reconcile 3 billionaires on the threshold with the debacle that happened yesterday.
Also from a legal point of view, any agreement for TS to cough up £50m to RD in the future must have a plus side for Thomas, who paid £1.1m for the club for which Southall was paying £1 for the same deal yet no additional guarantees.
We don't know the ins and Outs but there are too many holes in the proffered scenarios.

Thomas Sandgaard won't be gone though, he'll still have an 18% sharehold. That may only be so he can get some of the profits if the club actually makes any. Or at least sell it later with the club in a higher division. I guess he won't have any kind of active role in the club.

Hopefully Arse candle Tommy the champion failure and all his legion of grade A fuckwitts are indeed monitoring all areas of Charlton social media and be well informed enough to know the intense level of dislike their “leader” inspires in the vast majority of Charlton fans. I think when TS took over the club many were just thankful that the club had been saved from ESI/Southall etc and looked no further than that.
Can't say I blame them for that as at first like many TS appeared the good guy.
It was only after a period of time the true colours were shown.

I too am very grateful for the updates from reamsofverse as they give us all hope for the future.
I just hope that the new owners will have as much passion for the club as the Leicester City Chairman who has just cleared outstanding debts at the club.

Although I love the game and our club, sometimes I think the money involved elsewhere is obscene and just serves to underline how far down the pecking order we’ve fallen and that we’re unlikely to see that sort of money invested in CAFC.

My personal advice after yesterday would be to treat Methven and what comes out of his mouth with the highest degree of scepticism.
He’s very much another Sandgaard, in that believes what comes out of his mouth at the time he says it.
He’s denying that any money has been made / siphoned off in January 🤥 and for a guy who’s claimed to have three US billionaires backing him, it’s very strange to hear him now talking about consolidating in the top 10 (Top Ten…) of League One.
