Freddie Ladapo would be decent if the rumour were true, but current valuation is £860,000. I’m sure other clubs would be interested. Hasn’t he been released by Rotherham?

Dreamland there are things to be upset with Thomas about but not approaching the Luton manager is not one of them You just don't get it do you? We shouldn't have to just accept what the wanker can afford. which let's be honest isn't very much, just because some people still claim that he 'saved us'. What I am saying is we have got another owner who can't afford what it takes and just because other Charlton fans clearly suffer with delusionalism, it doesn't mean to say I have to put up with it. Sandgaard's funds or lack of, are not in the same ball park as what's needed. So with that logic if we had money we could attract whatever manager we’d like could we? Klopp or Guardiola perhaps? I think it’s you that doesn’t get it. Money is helpful in recruitment as a driver but isn’t the only one and won’t override individuals ambition etc

"Oxford United landed Gorrin back in 2019 and he has since played 100 times for Karl Robinson’s side, chipping in with two goals and three assists." Well by the sounds of that he will fit right in! A goal involvement every 20 games! Even Morgan has better stats than that I'm sure.

Although not a rumour, Harry McKirdy at Swindon surely worth a punt ? Scored 19 goals in 35 league games. Could of course be another Nicky Ajose

Also Depends on IF the new head coach fancies him?,or on the list that MS is apparently compiling? I'd expect him to turn us down flat, but we need to at least approach Ladappo.

Could of course be another Nicky Ajose Stat wise (over more than the last season) he is no better than Davison, and also 3 years older. We should be looking at much better quality than a half decent league 2 striker.

He's 25, their Player of the Season (and L2 Team of the Season) and signed a new contract a couple of months ago. I doubt they'd let him go for much less than £1m tbh and if you think our owner (Mr Empty Wallet) is paying that you're on crack.

Definitely an up and down season for Lee. When he joined us, I wasn't overly impressed - maybe a fitness issue? But had a real upturn in form around the time that JJ was in charge and looked like a first team mainstay but then second half of the season just went downhill and towards the end of the season wasn't figuring much and at times I forgot he was here. Not someone I would bring back but maybe as an option off the bench/squad player maybe.

Reality Check.
Our owner is, relatively speaking, skint. “Asset rich, cash poor”.
ST sale money will almost certainly be used to keep the Club ticking over this Summer.
Any possibility of buying players will hinge on Pope and Gomez sell ons, by which time decent targets are likely to have be en snapped up by more agile L1 rivals.
We will (IMO) sign 3/4 lower league free agents, scrubbers like Gilbey & Souare, and a couple of kid loans at the last minute at the end of August.
Don’t forget that Sandgaard is on record as saying that he intends the club to break even next season.

Don’t forget that Sandgaard is on record as saying that he intends the club to break even next season. Ever since the parachute monies ran out in 2009 we have been heavily reliant upon ST sales in April/May to fund the club. And player sales. And media monies in August and January - quite significant when we have been in the Championship. Sustainability is in our interests... as is technical proficiency delivered by SMT. Always be aware that CAFC runs budgets in the top six when in League One and bottom six when in the Championship. As stated elsewhere, an early sale of Pope and Gudmundsen will trigger a windfall. This in turn generates cash, pressure AND makes our club more attractive. It would really help if we had a qualified DoF to navigate the next 12 months.

I know other clubs are not signing players (according to Colin) but WBA has just announced the signing of John Swift from Reading.
I put him at the top of our bucket list some weeks ago, he is a very good player as well as a free agent.
A shame to miss out on that one.
