The deal is not close. Barclay and Varney have not spoken to ESI for a while. They have not spoken to Duchatelet at all, how can it be close? correct Burke is also a 'fake'

Perhaps BB means the Aussies not Varney and Barclay? Are they still interested?

Perhaps BB means the Aussies not Varney and Barclay? Are they still interested? The Aussies have just closed down the holding company Echinada on Companies house.

Just listened to Talkshite. How embarrassing listening to Dodger and Smiffyboy. All they said was Elliott was dodgy and he doesn't know where Macros is in SE7. No new information, nothing earth shattering. Complete waste of time. All that Jordan said is that he doesn't like Varney.

Meanwhile over at Wigan takeover maybe today?. What about meanwhile you have just taken another thread off topic when there is a Wigan thread already open. That's four in five days and I have reminded you after each time you have done it..

Perhaps BB means the Aussies not Varney and Barclay? Are they still interested? The Aussies did speak to Nimer but were told the club was not for sale , plus they would only be interested if RD was completely out the picture they do not wish to have any dealings with him at all after basically he shafted them after the play offs final when the deal was expected to be completed next day ..

Just had a text saying the Varney and Barclay deal is close ?? and could this be the reason why EFL are taking their time ?? The person who sent it has connections with the trust so don’t know the strength of this Sadly it looks like someone is pulling your chain and having fun at your expense, Colin

So they are only interested in buying the club if the vendor pays out £50m just before the sale to give them a club with no debts? I can't, for the life of me, understand why those wasters hung around for two years and concluded nothing! Oh wait....

I can't, for the life of me, understand why those wasters hung around for two years and concluded nothing! Oh wait.... Nail on the head! Everybody sniffing around is looking for ex directors (including RD) to take a significant haircut. So far only three of the ex-directors (from 2010) have shown any appetite for a haircut. And they hold just £3M of the c.£60M total debt. One senses that we need to play on Wednesday, then see what the EFL does with respect to ESI and the Wigan / Wednesday penalties before we achieve clarity. As posted before, this is a poker game. Progress appears to depend upon the ability and appetite of ESI to keep funding any operating losses... and paying themselves significant legal / consultancy invoices! And if ESI runs out of cash, then perhaps the club reverts to RD as by far the largest creditor. Much will depend upon league status and the payment of media revenue plus ST sales.

Im pretty sure CF will leave CAFC / new owners with a rather large invoice for legal services !

Interesting post from Rick Everitt.
MY understanding is that ESIv2 have been trying to raise money, unsuccessfully, off the back of a residential scheme on The Valley, which is exactly what ESIv1 were about. It won’t fly. We give them too much credit. Their outlay from the beginning has been minimal, in my opinion they will look to recover recent spending through asset sales past and present, and when the EFL decline to accept them they will disappear overnight, leaving Mihail and Florica holding the baby.

Am I right in thinking that if Charlton stay up, ESI will have to pay Uncle Roly £1.5M?
