Swansea City Fan here with a watered down version of our recent clubs history and I'm sure plenty more SCFC fans could go into a lot more detail Jenkins & Co were a bunch of small time businessmen and all Swansea City fans through & through that is the only 100% truth of what happened at the club the rest they say "there's 3 sides to every story" Swansea City football trust (the fans) owned 22% rest was owned and sprinkled over the rest below Jenkins a bankrupt roofer Dineen owned vending machines Morgan travel agent , hotel owner Van Zweden DIY shop owner in The Hague And a few more small randoms (Yes one was a well known Dutch ex-hooligan who had Swansea connections, also apparently in the distant past Jenkins was no angel either). Hats off to each and everyone of one of them this was a proper rags to riches story and without the shrewd, wheeling dealing things that went on behind the scenes and a massive massive dollop of luck we wouldn't have had those fantastic days in the sun. But it's just the way they sold out is what sticks in half of the Swansea City fans throats, for a club our size we were never going to get any bigger or better than we were. The board had had their days on the top table with the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Valencia..etc and SCFC were valued at about £100 million so they went into self preservation mode and started thinking about themselves not the club so Jenkins & Co with the trust in Jenkins pocket (another story) went out to sell the dream to any tom, dick, or yank. And that's what they did sold (conned) a bunch of other small time mugs who had nothing to put into the club but were looking to take out rather than put in hence we are now mid championship. As I said they were/are Swansea City through and through and did that to something they love what would they do to you? Welcome 1983. My Dad played for Swansea from 1976-78 and loved Harry Griffiths. Harry's assistant Roy Saunders introduced me to his son Dean and we played for Swansea City schoolboys together. Still friends to this day. My Dad fooking hated Toshack and chinned him just before he left Swansea to take up his first coaching rile at Leicester City. He didn' like the way Toshack took the glory for that promotion season when Harry had basically done all the work before passing away with around a dozen games left with Toshack taking over. In the early 90's he took over as Cardiff manager and loved beating Swansea which they so often did during his time there. I loved the Vetch back then, I obviously knew Robbie James very well and Curt (Alan Curtis). Do you remember Pat Lally from that era? Great player he was.

Cawley tweeted that Bassini has had offer accepted, currently with lawyers but ultimately up to Nimer who he sells to. Let's just hope that Zenga is correct and Nimer is in the long term plan as a face for the AD Sheik. Won't involve Bassini if Zenga's summary is correct.

Cheers mate
Not sure of Pat Lally a little bit before my time but definitely Robbie & Curt I think every Swansea fan of a certain age knows that Harry Griffiths done all the ground work way before Tosh ever came along, I remember going to my first ever South Wales derby game in 1984 and Dean Saunders scoring twice & Curt for Swansea beating cardiff 3-2 after we were 2-0 at half time

Nixon convinced that this is just Bassini stirring the pot. Did the same thing with Bolton.

Reams, I don't have your knowledge of all things CAFC, or your source of any goings-on at the club, but would be interested to have your thoughts regarding a possible new owner. From what I have read lately it seems to be either Huw Jenkins or Bassini, & with our recent past history it seems sods law that we will end up with Bassini, (ongoing shit show)! personally I would much prefer Jenkins, any thoughts as to who you think it might be? cheers!

I think if the Jenkins Takeover goes ahead and he proves good for Charlton, the directors will drop their Court action and allow their loans to be rolled over. I suspect it might need to work the other way around @matttees It would be crazy to commit to buying the club with the dispute and the uncertainty it creates still outstanding. It would be surprising, therefore, if the former directors have not already been involved in discussions. Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen things happen that don’t make any sense. Unfortunately though, our experience tells us that this usually isn’t good news. Anyway, let’s hope this deal goes through and that it brings some sanity and stability. All we’d then need is for the season to restart and for us to somehow avoid relegation.

The summary is correct and verifiable up until the part where Huw Jenkings buys Charlton. I can't confirm nor deny that part, since I simply don't know. Where I was correct so far: I shared the fact that MS is a con artist with several posters on this board at the beginning of January, a bit later with Reams. I'll leave it up to them if they want to confirm that or not, but most of the stuff played out as expected with regards to MS. What leaves me puzzled: several of the football people I spoke with back then confirmed that Abu Dhabi (de facto the Al Nahyan family) wanted to buy a London based club. I don't know if that is based on the same study I saw in the fall and posted about on this forum. Today they still stand behind what they told me. What happened down the road is anyone's guess. I quote my post from March 23rd " Remember the video where Tahnoon Nimer gives an interview to the "Private Investment Forum Worldwide"? Nimer has been prominently featured by the organization in promo's and testimonials. I started here. 2 conclusions:
1) These "Private Investment Forum Worldwide" events are legit, without namedropping, investment funds worth billions attend these conferences. They have interviews with people who represent a lot money, all praising those events. Something you can easily research yourselves. This means that Nimer was at the very least at the right place, i.e. in the inner circles of big money.
2) I contacted a couple of these people (also something you can do yourself). 2 confirmed by e-mail that an investment into Charlton was presented to them during these events. A first time late september 2019, and a 2nd time in december 2019. They just wanted to confirm that it was a representative of ADBD (not Tahnoon Nimer). They didn't want to talk about about the outcome of these talks, 1 guy labeled them as 'very interesting'.
If Nimer is a wannabee, he seems to be a damn good one." This guy confirms it in an interview without naming the club. Did Nimer fuck up royally, did he overplay his hand or was he indeed a conartist? That whole youtube channel has testimonials from legit investment funds, family offices, ... big finance. So somehow he managed to be there multiple times in an official capacity of representing Mohammed Al Nahjan. On the other hand he said he wouldn't invest a single penny into the club as long as MS was part of ESI. Hard to say, but at the end of the day he represented the Al Nahyan family in one way or another and that wont sit well with them. Due to the FFP rules Al Nahjan just can't buy outright a club in the UK, because it will be basically government owned. Nimer relied on the money from the Al Nahyan family because he at the end of the day he is an employee. While we are at it: Somehow MS managed to get in bed with Nimer, and when Lyle Taylor refers to the unbelievable things he has heard about MS, then that includes the time MS was working for Kia Joorabchian as a football agent. And now this same Joorabchian starts 2 London based companies in December last year ( Link 1 Link 2), in the period between the announcement of the takeover and the actual takeover ...

Should this deal go through, what does it mean in terms of the on going EFL investigation and also the transfer embargo? Will the former be curtailed without sanction on the club, and secondly will the embargo lifted sooner rather than later?

Lifting the embargo will require proof and source of funds from whoever the owner is. The EFL investigation is a different matter though, I suppose it will be their decision whether or not to proceed, in the light of a new owner taking control.
