The highlights shown what a great individual effort that was. To get into position to receive the pass, to conceive the idea of what to do to get away from the close marker, to control with the side boot to move the ball forward and away from the marker, to maintain balance and movement, then take another touch to move the ball further away from the marker to make room to turn and shoot, to time it perfectly to get the power and direction in the shot and all in the real fast flowing time of a real match and totally in control. No wonder the defender lay sprawled in a heap in despair and the Luton defence in stand off awe of Taylor for the rest of the game.
Oh my word, that was a world class goal, one I will wonder over many times, and as great a goal I have ever seen in my 6 decades of watching football, and it happened at the valley!

It was a superb effort and even at THAT angle he bent one off, no rudeness intended.

It made the top 4 goals on Sky Sports for Goal of the Day... but I don’t think it won.. Maybe a Brentford goal... still, nice to be noticed.,

Lyle's goal was a piece of individual magic but I loved our third goal. The fluid passing - Taylor>Lapslie>Bonne>Lapslie was terrific and Lapslie's run to collect Bonne's pass was perfection. There's a video in which the whole sequence, seen from on high, is just great to watch.

love the idea of a little Lappo! Great team goal. I greatly admire his courage and commitment, he was dominant playing in <23's! You see him grow in stature every game he plays, as he gets stronger and wiser. I was thrilled to see him supporting and combining with Taylor and Bonne, dare I say gallagher like!
As for Lyle's goal to me it demonstrated that he is at his peak in skill, confidence and most important for us now physique. He is in total control of his body and he has a brilliant footballing mind. The mind of a quality striker! He executes deft touches with as much ease as he can bully a defender or a keeper, his acceleration as he bears down on defenders scares me let alone what it does to them, and he is constantly looking for the main chance with speed of thought that creates quality opportunities for self and team mates. IMHO these attributes demonstrate he will maintain peak level for a long time and almost more important improve everybody around him (think Bonne, Lappo, Morgan, Doughty, etc etc etc).
Joy to watch these guys and as for Dill etc ... heady days at the valley!
