A bit of a smash grab from Rovers yesterday, in game that could have easily ended all square. Blackburn used to playing in shitty weather managed to ride the storm and snatch 3 points. As a Rover, I consider us a little lucky as Taylor did have his chances, and he was only denied from some great goalkeeping from Walton. Fingers crossed we shall see you next season, Bowyer doing fine. Match review, thoughts from fans and more.

Thanks for that, amazing insight from the other side. Our own fans didn’t even give us this credit that an away supporter has!!!! Good luck for rest of season

Thanks for that, I thought we played okay. If we were mid-table our fans would have probably taken losing better.

Thanks for that .. lot of our fans don’t understand that because you lose it don’t mean your the worst team in the land and manager and players should all be sacked .. ..
Don’t think there was anything between the sides if you look at what the keepers had to do would say Blackburn keeper made two excellent saves which in a tight game is massive ... think first 15/20 mins we looked good and perhaps if we had gone in front it may have been diff but all credit to Tony Mowbray who changed the system and basically used the long ball in conditions that were a nightmare for defenders ... but both Rovers goals had a little luck about them first a deflection left Phillips flat footed and of course the second an horrendous mistake by the ref for the free kick ..once you got two goal lead Blackburn defence who were superb had something to hold onto and we never really used the conditions second half as well as Blackburn did first half .....

We came out of that game with no credit at all yesterday yet there are always one or two who will sugar coat poor performances. I don't care very much for CL as you know but when their post match thread is universally in agreement on how bad we were then you can take it as a given that we were. Week in week out you simply refuse to accept that the manager got it wrong and we put in a relegation performance when we needed a big effort. Don't talk to me about the Forest result, we know what happened but we also know we had a very big helping hand from them.

I was merely commenting on a viewpoint from an opposing fan, he thought they were lucky and if I thought Bowyer was wrong I’d say but I much rather talk about what happens next as what’s done is done... Helping hand or nay, we still had to win the game, teams don’t just roll over and give points, Lamouchi picked a team he thought would beat us, they didn’t cause we beat them simple as...

Shouldn't we be able to defend free kicks bad decision or not? And of course you conveniently forget the bad referee decision not to award what was a stone wall penalty.

It was a bit similar to Tuesday's game in reverse. One golden chance to score (Taylor's header) and some great goalkeeping to keep out Cullen's long shot. Blackburn took their only two chances but were probably also denied a penalty for Pearce's foul.
Continuing the comparison, Blackburn controlled large parts of the game, in the same way that we controlled large parts of Tuesday's game at Forest. Once the first goal had gone in, neither result looked in much doubt.

Nothing to mention the player pushed Pearce outside the box he fell into it trying to stay up and the player dived over him no pen in fact a booking for diving ? The same player got booked but later so Blackburn really should have been down to 10 men .. then he also missed the clear foul on Bonne off the ball in the box

Kind of what happened on the opening game when we took our chances to snatch 3 points in what might have been considered an even game. But obviously we were quite happy that day as we won.

That's why nobody can ever take your comments seriously. Your eyes are so rose tinted it is unbelievable. You will no doubt say if we are relegated we had a good season.

Haven’t bothered to watch the video, but Blackburn’s win was anything but a smash and grab. They moved the ball much better than we did and, on the day, were much the better side in my view.
That said, it was a game of very few clear cut chances and the expected goals count for both sides was relatively low. For us that was because we had very little controlled possession while for Blackburn it was the result of a failure to convert some very good approach play into clear cut chances.
As I posted earlier today on the “Lies, lies, damn lies and statistics” thread, we’re simply not creating enough. Our expected goals for in our eight matches so far this year is just 0.8 per game. We’ll be lucky to survive if we can’t do better than that during the run in.

Err somebody on here actually agrees with me and posted me the link to the thread. You are spot on, I do tell people not to mention them on here but on this occasion but like I said there was probably more of them at the game than there were Charlton fans on here so I was interested in reading the bigger picture and what is clearly the most accurate feedback from the game. Most said the same on ITTV but then there are those who put a biased slant on it because they don't want to criticise. Keep up that happy clapping on Saturday Jeddez and don't leave the rose tinted specs behind when you leave the house.

Well, as someone on here that went, we were deservedly beaten by a better and more experienced team. It wasn't a pen though.

I’ll judge for myself at the games mate, you won’t see me tho as I’ll be incognito with those glasses on... I’ll criticise when I feel fit, don’t need to be part of a clan to do that!
