Always fucking moaning on this forum, haven't even seen him play in the flesh yet. We need a tough bastard in midfield and he apparently is one. If he's crap he's crap, but I'm not slitting my wrists just yet. Royston don't u have a ukip meeting to go to? Bit boring now mate. Totally agree my man To many moaners on here that just love stirring the shit the problem is the moaners most probably play football manager and sign €50million players on a regular basis If you know what I mean lol Hey listen, I'm usually with you with the whole too much negativity on ITTV, but seriously how much is there to be positive about right now? I don't expect multi million pound signings but at least some for a few hundred K, roland the rat has the money but chooses not to invest it, with a few half decent players with championship experience we could do alright in this league, I don't think I or anyone else is asking too much. For the record no I never booed Lisbie or leaburn or any other player wearing the charlton shirt Its not my thing booing our own players. Bottom line right now is we are continually signing unknown foreign players without English league experience, most of these players are rejects or reserves from their previous/current clubs, and/or they are cast offs from within the network and it's the same rule for our head coaches, our beloved club is quickly becoming a laughing stock.

Amazed by this thread so let's point out one or two things.
1) Lepoint doesn't set my heart beating but he has signed or is about to and that makes him a Charlton player 2) Christophe, welcome to the club! 3) He is better than some of the rubbish we have 4) Luzon has been told to bring in what is required to stay up NOT go up 5) Hands up how many Charlton fans have seen this guy play on a regular basis, enough in fact to write him off already. 6) Can we please try and be adults and have a discussion based on the football and do so without pointing out peoples spelling mistakes.

Sadie, Good points there BUT you know and I know that the problem is charlton don't have that stigma to sign decent good English pro's because charlton are run by business money men not football fans, If you look at RM his interests are purely to retain his 10% stake with his wealth alone and his network he could of purchase the club there's your answer

Reams can I ask a question I respect your knowledge and disagree with some of your threads but the question is would you sign him for €650.000 and pay him €15k pw

wtf to be honest I don't know enough about him to answer your question as Gent are not a side that I watch regularly online.
I did watch them win 1-0 at Liege though back in August and was impressed how the Gent dominated the midfield. I do recall a bald player having a very good game alongside a Brazilian called Renato so unless Gent have another one with no hair then he was the man.
One thing I will say about them is that they are consistently top 4 finishers and he is one of the players who has pulled their strings down the years.
I think he will do a good job for us personally and I will welcome him on board, we do need a striker though and his Gent team mate Laurent Depoitre would do a good job.

Thanks for your response As for a striker you promote many foreign players and I'm sure there's a rough diamond out there I don't think Delort is the answer but what about someone like Andrey Galabinov cheap and hits the net

I do agree that we definitely need one championship player in, but I think that has to be a striker. I don't care where we buy players from as long as they're good enough. Apparently Tony Watt is a lazy footballer yet apparently at Wolves, brighton and watford he played well and made things happen. I for one hope to see him in the starting line up on Saturday so I can see him with my own eyes for the first time, because he has managed to prove many wrong. It would be a mistake if TBH was let go tbf...

As he is not from the network, but still a player in the Belgian League does this suggest that this is a player that Luzon has recommended having already spotted the weak heart at the centre of our midfield.

It was the bald player in the midfield No 26. He almost scored.

45 games since 2009, might need to be bedded in gently as short of match practice.

Confused as to differing Wiki's. However, should yours be right then he'll probably be fit enough!

Richard Cawley@richcawleyslp·40 mins40 minutes ago #cafc could wrap up signing of Christophe Lepoint today. Still in talks over Naby Sarr too.

"Welcome Christopher. 100% support for Christophe" "The Point is staying at the Marriott Hotel in Bexleyheath" "Do you like Bovril, or red wine?" "Very good player. I have seen a three second clip of him on You Tube v FC Nobody" "He has been capped by Belgium, so must be excellent. Just like Yoni Buyens." "LePoint is worth 15m Euros on X Box Football Manager" "This proves that Roland wants us in the Premier League this season" "I will invite him along to the CAFC Museum /Fans Forum /G21 Mutual Hair Combover Session" "Does he do tunnel jumps?" There. I think I have got every one of the usual cliches covered.

How about, we wait until he plays to see if he's any good?
Might be rubbish, might be great. I, along with most of you, have no idea how he'll do in the Championship.

Some have been good (Igor, TBH, Bikey, JBG and Buyens), some have been rubbish, and some are in the 'not sure' camp.

thesunisredOh dear if you really think Buyens has been 'good'. Are you actually watching our games? I have missed 3 all season. Buyens is the biggest passenger since Pavarotti got on a bus. Ditto Bikey - better at Wolves, but terrible from Xmas onwards. JBG ? How many games has he truly bossed ? One or two. The occasional good goal but his corners/crossing both piss poor. Igor ? Again, are you watching? Hasn't scored since November. From your list of the 5 out of 24 who have been 'good', only Ben Haim truly qualifies - and he wants to leave because of....Luzon. Its just happy clapping on your part.

My opinion for what its worth is that the players bought in have been average or just slightly better than average, I also believe that this is the footballer you get in our league. The few who are head and shoulders above the rest move on pretty quick or are paid big money to stay loyal by richer clubs than ours. Which brings me to my second opinion of the day, we do within our club have a few players who with the right coaching could be head and shoulders above the rest ie Gomez,Cousins and maybe even Daniel and Ansah, but I emphasize the right coaching bit. My fear is that these young players could be sold before their true potential is reached to bankroll a team of Belgium has beens.

Royston, I picked those 5 and marked them as 'good' as they play every week. Therefore, I'd say they have clearly strenghtened the squad since last season (when admittedly we did bring in some dross). You see me as happy clapping, but I would argue that your Zealot like hatred of all things RD clouds your judgement. Either way, Lepoint is a Charlton player (not a loan), so I will fully support him as I do the team. p.s. Buyens was brilliant in those 3 games you missed

Great post ashaddickWhat will fans say if Lepoint takes Cousins place ? JC then becomes disaffected and leaves this summer as a result.

Although I'm intrigued to see what the guy can do in person, I hate the way the club have branded him a Belguim International.
Sure the guy has played a couple of times for his country, but that was 4/5 seasons ago and we all know he wouldn't get into their team now.

I feel sorry for these guys, particularly Chapple, as the Belgians must be 'copping a deaf one' to his player suggestions.
