Rich from Crawley is Tweeting from the SLP that Tucadean is on the brink of signing for Bucharest (hoorah), and that Naby Sarr is coming the other way on loan from Lisbon.
Apart from the obsensity of signing yet another obscure foreign loan, I don't understand why signing another Centre Back has been prioritised, when we lack creative midfielders, wingers and strikers?
Note to Editor:
The same fans mouthing platitudes like "Give Naby a chance" and "just what we need" said the same things - identical - about Buyens.....Tucadean......Bulot.......Polish Pete.......etc, etc
When Joe Gomez has to go out on loan now to get experience, because Naby Sarr has nicked his berth, those same fans will say they don't rate Gomez (shades of Poyet, Piggot etc all over again, too)

If the coaches and manager feel that sending Joe Gomez out on loan would benefit his career progression rather than warming the bench each week, then so be it. I personally watched Gomez two seasons ago play against Arsenal U18's and I have been raving about him ever since, in fact I stated at the time that I would go as far as to say that he will play for the England senior team one day, that's how good I think he is. We have to remember he is still very young and I'm not certain that playing week in and week out in the Championship would do him any good, he still needs to be nurtured! We haven't got a clue what is going on behind the scenes, but if Ben Haim does want away as rumoured then we have to have a replacement dont we! I have no idea what Naby Sarr is like, but Dick has seen him play and rates him. That's enough for me to give the guy a chance first. Why don't you try it? You never know, you might like it!

Why does Ben Haim want away though ? Answer - Luzon. Another Network fail. Getting a patsy in who pisses off your best defender. And we already have cover at CB - the American bloke.. initials O.O You can't possibly feel any affinity with this constant stream of loans. We are the footballing version of a car boot sale.

Why do we have to buy English players ... Leeds , Watford , Midd'boro all but foreign players because there cheaper....we have been quoted £4 mill for a div one striker and we get Vetokeke full international for 2.5 mill Makes sense to look and buy aboard if we can get a better player for half the price No. Position Player 1 Republic of Ireland GK Dean Kiely 2 England DF Anthony Barness 3 England DF Chris Powell 4 England MF Graham Stuart 5 England DF Richard Rufus 6 England DF Carl Tiler 7 England MF Shaun Newton 8 Republic of Ireland MF Mark Kinsella 9 England FW Andy Hunt 10 England FW Clive Mendonca 11 Wales MF John Robinson 12 England DF Steve Brown 13 Serbia and Montenegro GK Sasa Ilic 14 Sweden FW Martin Pringle 15 England DF Eddie Youds 16 Scotland DF Greg Shields 17 England MF Scott Parker No. Position Player 18 England DF Paul Konchesky 19 England DF Andy Todd 20 England MF Keith Jones 22 England GK Simon Royce 23 England DF Anthony Allman 24 England DF Jonathan Fortune 25 England FW Leigh Hales 27 England MF Kemal Izzet 28 England DF Kevin James 29 England FW Kevin Lisbie 30 England FW Charlie MacDonald 31 England FW Mark McCammon 32 Wales GK Sam Turner 33 Sweden FW Mathias Svensson 34 England MF John Salako 35 Belgium DF Steve Barbé (on loan from Molenbeek) 36 England FW Paul Kitson (on loan from West Ham United) This was our squad for the 99-00 season, we won the title.

From the above translation and after all the Hoo Ha, Saar is not signing for The Addicks unless there's a complete reversal of the situation at his own club.

Quote: "Pretty sure Derby, Ipswich, Bournemouth and Brentford have primarily British squads" Pretty sure Blackpool and Millwall do too. But American addick said the game has changed massively since we went up implying that you need foreigners to challenge in this league, which the four teams I quoted have proved is not true, especially Brentford who were tipped for relegation and are flying. If only we had a competent manager who could get more than the sum of the parts of the players.

I was actually referring more to the fact that a lot of teams are moving to replace English players with cheaper European alternatives. There are also a lot more foreign owners now than fifteen years ago.

You could make the contrast with Watford. They had 6/7 foreign players who would walk into our first team playing on one leg. Nobody objected to. Claus Jensen or a Jorge Costa. Plenty object to constantly getting journeymen stuffed down our throats.

If he was joining us with a Genk history, you would moan.

He was obviously a good player though as he moved to the Italian league. If this bloke isn't good enough for genk why should he be good enough for us? I will give him a chance but the signing hasn't reallh got anybody excited has he?
