Probably half but if you want to pay my bills so I don't have to work some Saturdays I'll gladly go to them all.

Hardly any. Too much else going on in my life to spend every other weekend venturing off to all parts of the country.
Huge respect to those who travel regularly.

Probably miss 4 or 5 this season.
Won't be doing Sheff. Wednesday this year, still trying to get over the last time I was there when I was accosted by this little Charlton geezer! Don't think he goes anymore!

This season I think only Luton away is feasible for me to attend, as I can only go to non-Saturday games and they have to be reasonable commuting distance.

Not many these days;
In the 80s = 132 (9 and a bit seasons) In the 90s = 164 (10 seasons) Noughties = 69 (10 seasons) Since then = 37 (9 and a bit seasons)
Seen us win away 111 times with 89 draws.
Seen us play on 94 grounds (includes lots of "doubles" Like Millwall, Bolton, Derby. Leicester, Sunderland etc)
Seen us win at 60 grounds. ]
First away in 1981/1982 @ QPR lost 0-4 Next away in 1982/83 @ Newcastle Lost 2-4 (Martin Robinson 2) First away point in 83-84 @ Cambridge 2-2 (Peter Mountfield & Carl Harris) First away win - 1983/84 @ Fulham - 1-0 (Paul Curtis...YAY!) Last away in 2018-19 @ Doncaster won 2-1 (Lyle Taylor & Joe Aribo) Biggest away beating @ Brighton 1983/84 lost 0-7
All courtesy of a spread-sheet I set up a few years ago when I was unemployed for a few months!!!!

Strange you mention the next game I'll be attending

You should get first refusal on tickets. Not having a poke at Sevenoaks or Elfsborg but have a genuine question.
I don't know if Sevenoaks goes home and away or just all of the away games but if the latter why should he/she be given priority over somebody who goes to all the home games but few away?
And just to clarify, I go to as many home games as work allows and 2-3 away each season plus a few neutrals because I am away for work. Last one was the new Steaua Bucharest (FCSB) vs Voluntari because I had a weekend in Romania during a work trip last year.

Not priority over regular home attenders, but priority over Valley Gold members who want to take Uncle Gerald on a day out to Reading.

Historically - very few indeed. Two or three per decade. Last one I can remember, Fulham away in the FA Cup, January 2012.
Since RD bought the Club - One. Wembley play-off Final, May 2019
The Vatican gets through Popes more frequently than I go to away games.

Not priority over regular home attenders, but priority over Valley Gold members who want to take Uncle Gerald on a day out to Reading. Maybe the answer is to introduce an away membership fee then. Let's say £50 a season and then give priority as follows
1) Season ticket holders (who are also valley gold + away members) 2) Season ticket holders + valley gold OR away member 3) Season ticket holders 3) Away members 4) valley gold 5 general sale
How does that sound?

I reckon you must have organised the selling process for Reading.

In the good old days of me attending, it would cost me about £100 per away trip.

In January 1990 I went all the way to Bradford for an FA Cup replay that was midweek. Came back on a night coach that took all night to get back. I did have company of a pleasant female who got on at Leeds. And we did win 3-0 in a season where we ended up getting relegated (but so did they and from a lower divisions)

Cheers Elfs...those grounds really start multiplying when you add in all those newish second grounds. Pretty sure Odsal, Bradford was the first of those and Millwall the first of the permanent new homes.
There are still quite a few of the more traditional clubs I've never been to (for Charlton or anyone else) like Burnley, Blackpool, Bury (sad face), Northampton, Hartlepool, Scunthorpe, Wigan.
There are others that I seem to have been to a lot; from the non-London clubs; Swindon & Derby both 11 times, Barnsley Leicester Norwich Sheff W Birmingham all 9 times.
Most visited are QPR at 14 and Fulham 13. Hope to do both of those again this season.
Swindon is my luckiest ground; 7 wins out of 11 and only one defeat, although we ballsed the 2nd leg of a League Cup game at The Valley after winning down there (the Jan-Aage Fjortoft debacle).

And we did win 3-0 in a season where we ended up getting relegated (but so did they and from a lower divisions) That was a rare pleasure that difficult season. We played so well that night and really deserved our win. Bob Bolder made a brilliant block from an indirect free-kick on about the penalty spot at the away end. After an argument with John Humphrey (which he won), Bob stood in front of the wall and charged the kick as it was tapped to one side for the shooter. Bob was on him in a flash....really brave....and really smart. Why let a defender who can't use his hands charge it?
The first game was a bit weird in that it was a Sunday afternoon game at Selhurst (crap 1-1 draw!)

Do Burnley and Hartlepool if you get the chance, cracking little grounds and great trips for a day out.

The bottom line on this one is Reading only giving us half of the away end.
Yes that's what they do with all clubs but it's pathetic.
By the way when it comes down to loyalty points, control freak, Keohane should have a word with himself about awarding them to fans where all games are long away days for some fans.
I have gone on record many a time on here saying that the club grossly underestimate how many followers they have North of Watford. I don't see how you can gain points for travelling long distance to away games but get nothing travelling long distance to home games.

I don’t go to any away games these days, gave up in the late 70’s when family and finances took precedent. Away trips then were wonderful experiences, coach from Woolwich probably maximum 65 fans at any one time. Overnight trips to places such Middlesbrough and Carlisle (midweek too), but not anymore. Fair play to those that go now it must be quite expensive compared to then. Never a problem getting a ticket either, just pay your money at the turnstile. Happy days.
Well done to divot for his personal records keeping. Wish I’d done that! It got me thinking - anyone on here go on the post season trip to Tunisia in 1975? Leedsaddick maybe. Organised by a travel firm to coincide with the opening of a new hotel in Sousse. Four team tournament, Charlton, Bournemouth, Swindon and the spanner’s. Needless to say the spanner’s won it☹️ There’s an old isssue of VOTV* with an item about it and a lovely photo of Harry Redknap without his trousers! One abiding memory is of Charlie Hall the Charlton physio dishing out kaolin and morphine medicine to everyone who got the Tunisian trots. * sorry has that got me a red card?

Plus going through old programmes. The last 10 seasons I've updated the sheet after every game.
What I wouldn't want to do is multiply up all the games by £££ and see what the answer is!!!! (Definitely worth it though....following Charlton has been great).
