I know some will disagree but I lost some respect for lyle this window Maybe not as much as I was thinking when it looked like he was leaving But the way he has supposedly reacted to tweets.. He loves a wind up, loves the media attention, if you can give it then accept it. I havnt seen anything that could be seen as disrespectful. Granted I don't see every tweet like he does, but all I saw was 90% of fans telling him to stay and that they love him, and another 10% saying they won't care if he goes and that we don't want anyone who doesn't want to be here... I'm grateful for everything he has done for us on and off the pitch. The past couple of days he's let himself down due to twitter. If he knew all along he was staying he would have tweeted it, making me think he wanted out or at least would've considered it (as I said before, no huge problem, I would have too)

Not for nothing, there were probably 20-30 positive comments to each negative comment on Taylor’s social media - wonder why he’s not choosing to address that. None of the abuse I’ve seen has even been personal; more down the line of ‘if he wants to go for money then let him, we want people who want to be here etc’.

Can’t blame him - I just hope he takes his frustrations out on Stoke’s defense on Saturday

Can’t blame him - I just hope he takes his frustrations out on Stoke’s defense on Saturday My concern around Lyle and I could be completely wrong here, but I got the impression he wanted to go- didn’t offer any kind of cryptic message he wanted to say (such as liking a tweet supporting him) which is his usual MO. I feel Bowyer might have said something like ‘if we can replace you with Toney then I’ll consider’ - hence where we’d get the £4m from cause it certainly isn’t Roland. Now that fell through, he’s annoyed at the situation, less money and now the fan base. He’s an emotional character and I really hope that doesn’t translate to the pitch.

Can I be the first to say that RD is an evil bastard! After refusing to sell Taylor he has forced us to watch him play for a year and then let him leave for nothing. I’m wondering if anyone is going to return their season ticket in protest? This made me chuckle!! You make a very good point. Today’s refusal to sell Lyle Taylor demonstrates two things in my view; First, the owner is not a devil incarnate who is only interested in money. He may be a nutcase, but he’s a more complicated individual than most seem to think. And he’s not all bad. Second, managing players and their contracts is not easy. Clubs are not always entirely in charge of events. I work with an AFC Wimbledon fan and yesterday, when it appeared that Taylor was going to be sold, she told me their fans were complaining there’d be no sell on fee because the club had allowed Taylor to run his contract down. Funny old game.

Let’s cut to the chase.
I’ve been told by various people that Lyle Taylor wanted to join Brentford today. Who can blame him? He will get his chance again next summer, or maybe in January.
But PLEASE spare us the posturing & sulking on Twitter Lyle.

Along with the patronising comments about Taylor and subtle but clearly visible sanction of those who abuse our player on Twitter - "he's on Twitter so he deserves the shit thrown at him" The club has enough of a challenge recruiting talent without twunts like you piling in on social media disrespecting players and management.

If Lyle Taylor is staying, we need him to be at his best for every game he plays.
If he did want to leave then he'll just have to come to terms with not getting his move. And I can understand some fans thinking less of him now because of what has been going on during these last few days. I share that sentiment. But after expressing our frustration this evening I don't see anything good coming out of continuing to criticise his off-field activities or attitude.
Better that he does take a break from social media, and gets his head back into the right place for doing what he does best against Charlton's opponents this season. I hope he can do that by this coming Saturday but if he cannot, I'd just say please let's not slaughter him for it.
The Stoke game will come and go. But we will need Lyle Taylor to be his dangerous self on the pitch for the other 44 games, or at least until January.
Let's give Taylor a chance to deliver some more goals, which will surely bring all fans back onside with him and make him feel good again.

I've heard a rumour that hes been offered a contract far better than anyone else at the club and nearly in par with the average for the championship. Dont know if that had any truth in it but let's see where we are this time on sunday after the stoke game and once all emotions have died down.

seriouslyredYou want to stop burying your face all day in Auditor’s Weekly, and have a look at Lyle Taylor’s Twitter. I’ve not seen a single word of abuse directed at him by fans. He didn’t like the post on CL that was subsequently posted on here, but the vast majority of his largely teenage fanclub have been beseeching him to say he is staying. That is when he posted his arrogant “just leave me alone” Tweet. What a contrast to when I was a lad, and sent Bob Curtis some fanmail.

I view Taylor as a loan until the winter unless proven otherwise. If he does not sign, then he is off in Jan. Hopefully he scores enough between now and then to give us a buffer once he leaves.

I’ve also seen a few posts on here and on the other forum which have overstepped the mark slightly, especially if the stuff about him throwing a wobbly is just made up.

Of course it's just made up! For the wits on this BB to be so disrespectful is like the sound of grinding chalk down the blackboard in the empty classroom! Leave them malignant rumours in the dark recess of the bar where they belong and enjoy the fact that our leader of the line has come through for us and enjoy the expectation of our 1st home game of this championship campaign. When saturday comes! COYR!

Great that Lyle is staying. Don't know how much he is paid, don't know what his attitude has been like this week...do know that people make up stuff sometimes just look at the takeover threads.
Onwards and upwards to a top 10 finish this season.
