There are two threads about this on the other forum so let's leave them both to it and concentrate on the game on Sunday.
We all know what he is so no point in going over old ground, there's only one thing we need to focus on, win on Sunday and buyers will be queuing up to take the club off his hands and then we can all say the class of 2018/2019 finally got the sale over the line and nobody else.

Is he wrong ? Certain people have tried to make a career out of their hatred for him.

Delighted he isn't going and we wont have a side show.
Now it is all about us getting behind Lee and the team and how early I can get to the Green Man Wembley.
Agree with Reams no mention of Roland required now.

Whatever the result on Sunday, we will have all summer to discuss the squad, the management and the ownership. As per the posts above, how about we just focus on the build-up, the game and where people are going before and after the game.
It's Wembley FFS and it took just three days to virtually sell out our allocation for what is the biggest game in 12 seasons.

What ever people think he still supported the management team in getting us to a play off final .. so why should he not be there
To be fair I think he right there will be morons who will turn the day into attacking him for 90 mins ... the day is about families enjoying the occasion supporting the club the players and management .... lets celebrate we have a club to support so many have financial issues ... let’s support the club a positive club who win or lose are in the way back ...

Genuine question, do you think he’s right to have fears over his safety? Is it all just hot air or would he actually be in danger, we’re he to attend?

Duchatelet being there or not should not be an issue and it's a distraction that Bow and the boys could well do without ahead of a massive game.
Let's focus on getting promoted, the RD stuff will take care of itself one way or another.

For me it’s just an easy excuse , he don’t care , he don’t wanna go , but yet again he feels the need to put the blame on Charlton fans....
My message to him would be , turn up , don’t turn up , we don’t care...!!

Glad he's not turning up.
The players, coaching staff and fans deserve the attention.

Upon giving it very short consideration it all depends upon whether we win or lose. If we win all attention is on Bows and the boys. But if we lose 37000 making there feelings known verbally would be interesting and there's always some lagered up individual who could go too far. Yep stay away!

Glad he's not turning up. The players, coaching staff and fans deserve the attention.
Of the 36,000 Charlton fans present, around 35,500 wouldn't give a damn if he was there ot not.
But the 500 or so who got their saddo rocks off protesting in the Valley car park and making wanker signs at the CEO would want to make something of it.
So on balance, I'm glad the owner is not going to be there. But he has every right to attend and share the glory because he bankrolls the club and pays the players' wages. If you stop and think about it on any objective level, it's a sad comment on a (thankfully tiny) section of our support that he feels he cannot turn up.

I’m not sure he said that he felt threatened. That’s what Jim White suggested.
In fact he was trying to put works into RD’s mouth. All RD said was that he didn’t think he should go as many of the fans don’t want him there. He also said that it shouldn’t be about him it should be about the players and the fans.
Despite his best attempts to stir up more shit, and attention for himself, Jim White didn’t get RD to admit to being threatened.
On the whole I think there is nothing to attack RD about here, but I don’t think that will stop it!

Glad he's not turning up. The players, coaching staff and fans deserve the attention. As has already been pointed out, the vast majority of Charlton fans don't care if he is there or not. A number of protesters would like him to be there but only as a target for more protest action. But nobody wants him to be there out of gratitude for his stewardship of CAFC. Nobody likes him or wants him around, and he knows it. Generally in life you get back what you put in. Duchatelet has put in quite a lot of money and he is supposedly now trying to take that out again by selling the Club for a price he's happy with. That's fair enough. But money aside he has never invested anything else into Charlton Athletic, so it is natural that he receives nothing in return. If this had ever bothered him he would have done something about it, so he is clearly not troubled by it.

Don't think he'd have enough loyalty points to get a ticket!

I have no love at all for our owner but, rarely, on this one I agree with Bexley. He is keeping the club afloat and without his support we would be in the same position as Bolton. As the owner he should have the enjoyment of being there without fear of being assaulted. As Charlton fans we should be better than that.

Don't think he'd have enough loyalty points to get a ticket! Don't always agree with you, willett, as I had you down as one of those petulant, carping CARD/CAST types who have done the club no favours.
But respect. That is the funniest, smartest one-liner of the season. I reckon even M Duchatalet would have to permit himself a wry chuckle at that one. Brilliant - and thank you.
Charlton fans always used to have a finely-honed sense of humour - often of the gallows kind. But under the 'leadership' of Comrade "Charlton shame the whole of English football" Rick and his glum chums, it's sadly gone missing over the last few seasons.
We're not only in a Wembley final but we've got out sense of humour back. Thanks again!

As Charlton fans we should be better than that.Fortunately 98 per cent of the 36,000 we're taking to Wembley are better than that. The tiny minority of 'core actors' who are not have been marginalised. Normal service has been resumed in SE7. With or without a sale, we're a proper football club again - supporters, staff, management and players all pulling in the same direction.
