Charlton are making plans to sign a partner for striker Lyle Taylor. Following the loss of Karlan Grant in January Charlton have identified Plymouth striker Freddie Ladapo and Colchester striker Sammie Szmodics as their main targets.

The bottom line is we need to get to the Championship to attract better signings. I would suggest there are a number of Championship clubs who would be interested in Ladapo.

As long as it’s not Tom Eaves - didn’t rate him at all yesterday BB To be honest, I wouldn't judge him on that half a game. He has caused us trouble in the past, and they looked better when he came on. Hasn't he got about 20 goals in a struggling team?.. Agree no Lyle Taylor, but then until this season, has Lyle played like that?.. Lee Bowyer and Johnnie Jackson must take huge credit for that

I remember reading that Bows and Steve Galen have two lists - one for tier 2 and another for tier 3.

Got a friend in the youth set up at Colchester that really rates Szmodics – he says he's at least Championship quality. He's not a striker though, he's an attacking midfielder and a very, very small one.

I like Ladapo. Saw him play a few times when he was at Grays Athletic and he always looked too good for Isthmian Premier. Got his move to Palace but couldn't break into their team.

First target should be Otzumer. Yes would be a really good signing , with Cullen and Bielik almost certain to leave , and Williams’ future with us unclear at the moment .

Released Blues Youngster Vega Signs Pro Deal at Charlton Friday, 3rd May 2019 20:22 Released Blues youngster Luca Vega has signed a professional contract with Charlton Athletic after a trial.
As reported in March, defender Vega, 18, who had been with the Blues since the age of seven, was told he would not be offered terms at the end of this season at the completion of his two-year academy scholarship.
Vega, who spent time on loan at Lowestoft earlier in the season, subsequently began a trial with the Addicks, who the Blues will face in League One next season, playing games for their U18s and U23s, and impressed enough to win a pro deal.

Do they know something we don't? Vega impressed me in the game I saw against Burnley U23's, so well worth a punt for the club.

Think I prefer Bexley's version, he says we could be playing them in the 1st Division next year, while you say we will be playing them in Div 1.

My Dulwich Hamlet spy tells me that Oztumer was very disappointed when his move to Charlton was scuppered at the 11th hour.
I'd love to see him playing with some of the players we have now....he'd be a great fit and could play just behind Taylor. Maybe next season eh?
