These are the options for our second striker berth.
We don't score enough goals and they are the reason. If we don't go up look no further than those three as to why.
Steve Gallen must have been either as pissed as a fart or wanted to help out an old mate when he brought Parker in. He makes Akpo Sodje look like Lukaku. Along with Ajose he's one of the worst players ever to wear the shirt.

Think I would be more inclined to blame Grant's decision to leave.

Igor has plenty of game time between now and the play-offs. He'll be sharper by the end of April and we have good defenders so 1-0 or 2-1 wins are fine.
Having 2 on form strikers is very rare for us anyway. Taylor and Grant for about 6 months, Kermogant and Wright-Phillips briefly. Can't think of many others. Mendonca and Hunt peaked at different times and D. Bent was on his own I think.

We don't know the loan budgets available nor the price of players in the January window. However Aribo was injured back then and Taylor suspended for three games so our goal threat disappears for a while.
Blaming Gallen when we don't know the facts simply doesn't stack up for he is the one who has brought in the midfield (AND Taylor) this season which has pushed the KR midfield onto the bench!
In comes Bielik, Cullen and Williams whilst Reeves, Fosu, Marshall and the academy lad, Lapslie scrap it out for 30 minutes off the bench... or 60 minutes from the start.
Our squad is what it is - looking forward to the run in and experiments with 3-5-2 or even the dreaded 4-2-3-1 because we have real quality across c.15 players at our club.
Bottom line is that we are not a top two club and yet we should finish 20 points better off than two years back... chances at Wembley? No idea!

Grant being sold hasn’t helped at all but we should expect to see goals from players other than Taylor. The team has done well to get where they are but I really can’t remember a Charlton side so lacking in attacking threat to the opposition’s goal for a long while. It really is quite mystifying how limited we seem to be. For all the good work achieved so far this campaign it really will be thoroughly dispiriting if we fail because we can’t score, or at least have difficulty scoring on a regular basis to be more accurate, because for the most part all other areas of the team - defence and midfield energy - have little to be criticised for. Of course not bringing someone in of substance during the last window is also a major factor.

We are at least as good as the others, Sunderland will be the toughest but that would be a one-off match the way things are going. All to play for. In 98' we had Clive + a veteran striker on the brink of retirement and a willing but less than prolific 3rd forward in Steve Jones.

Have faith, Igor will come good! I think he will. We should get behind the 2nd strikers as if they were Messi and Ronaldo. They have a big role to play in May.

Have faith, Igor will come good! I hope you are right, he should be getting to full fitness now, so there shouldn't be any more excuses. I can't see the other two being the answer, Parker looks like a L1 journeyman and Ajose is bench warming in L2.
