Joe was signed from Staines Town in 2015. Does anyone know if they are liable to benefit from any percentage of any fee Charlton might receive in the event of him being sold?

Up until this season we've been fairly good at signing the real talent on longer deals and then selling when they become too good for CAFC / Championship and EPL clubs start making offers. Konsa and Aribo broke into the first team around the same time but, for whatever reason, we didn't get Aribo signed up on a three year deal.
We've now all had the chance to see a midfield made up of Cullen, Bielik, Aribo and Williams - basically we need to get promoted to keep some of these four at the club - none of them will be playing League one football next season.

Then let’s support the boys and get promoted Red 👍

The question of whether Staines will be due anything, could be moot. They are on the brink of folding.

Tried to halve his wages = Absolutely Ridiculous. Will be a lot of players rejecting contracts in the Summer if that's what is offered.

No they didn't.
"Charlton had to half their original wage offer"

Aribo told RD LB and SG he wants to stay but his agent is causing the problems ..... but if he did join Arsenal I would expect there be an excellent chance of a two year loan back .. plus would get another year loan for Belik thrown in as well

As I said and LB confirmed it his agent is causing the problem not the player or the club ...

I was under the impression that the agent worked for the player , not the other way round . If Joe was that keen to stay , he will instruct his agent to that effect , and tell him to get the best deal that he can .
Players commonly change agents ,that are not acting in their best interests . Maybe what Joe actually means , is that he would like to stay , but he has been messed about over a new contract , and now there are much better offers on the table .

That’s rubbish ... the fact is they offered terms as a championship side and as a div one side ... his agent wants the championship wages even if we are still in league one ..... now he trying to generate interest to put pressure on Charlton ... we got burned by Gomez agent learnt our lesson when it come to Lookman agent who was banned from the training ground The only person who career will suffer is Aribo his agent will still get his cut .

So why did we offer him Championship wages originally? At what point did someone say that we better reverse that decision and offer him League 1 wages?

Possibly round about the point when the accountants reminded someone that we made a £10m loss last year.

So why did we offer him Championship wages originally? At what point did someone say that we better reverse that decision and offer him League 1 wages? Maybe there was a contract on the table that had two scenarios on it. If we are in the Championship the player earns £x and if we are in League One the players earns £y. Clearly £x is much more than £y but unaffordable in the lower division. The Agent wants the player guaranteed Championship money - and I can see why. If we have a player that is too good for the division we are in and earning less than he could earn elsewhere there is a massive incentive to refuse to sell him - he would, ultimately, be irreplaceable at that point, certainly without spending a significant sum of money. No Agent want's to leave his client in that situation. Equally, no club wants to end up with a wage bill that is above the club's income - something that is likely if we give too many players Championship money while we are stuck in League One. Frankly, most clubs have wage bills that are not affordable but as the debts spiral (and the Accounts suggest that they stood at £62m in June 2018) decisions have to start to be made on a sensible, financial basis. I can see why the fans demand that their favorite players get paid what they want so that they stay, but someone has to pay for it and, at this stage, I think it's difficult to justify expecting Roland to spend any more of his money. I also suspect that Joe would tell Bowyer that he wants to stay and that his agent is causing all the trouble, even if he had already decided to leave. Diego Poyet and Sol Campbell, at Spurs, spring to mind. Very few people tell their employers that they are going to leave until the very last minute - there is no incentive to doing so. Keep the Manager hanging on all the while you arrange your exit so that the work environment is pleasant (in this case you keep getting picked and the fans sing your name) and then tell them once the season is over. I'm not saying that this is the case here, but if I were Joe's Agent, or his Dad, I would be telling him, in no uncertain terms, to not sign a new contract, unless it was very, very good money, until the end of the season when, as a free agent, he can see what his options are. I would tell him, however, to keep telling the manager, club and fans that he wants to stay but his Agent (or his Dad) is leaning on him not to sign.
