Why would he only be a plan B? He's scored more than Taylor and Grant to be fair to him. I've only seen Eaves play 3 times. I've thought he looks good, and I'd be delighted if we sign him. But he doesn't fit in with the style of play we currently have, and would be a replacement for Ajose rather than Taylor or Grant. We've got two strikers in double figures before Christmas. Therefore we either change completely the way we play or we use Eaves to disrupt games when we're not doing well with the footballing approach. There's nothing negative with a plan B, and it might end up as plan A when we play teams who defend deep behind the ball. Let's see what the window brings. Gillingham don't play long ball yet Eaves is League one's top scorer so I'm not sure where you are coming from tonaddick. Perhaps Eaves is a replacement for Taylor? or as Taylor enjoys and is very effective playing deep perhaps he may be be asked by LB to be our number 10 with Eaves and Grant up top. The most likely outcome of course is that Eaves doesn't sign for us at all.

Eaves is apparntley off to chatlton plus 750 grand and Ajose to Gillingham. 750,000 when he out of contract at the end of the season , and Scully said they are unlikely to get more then 250,000 now and could Gillingham even afford half of Ajose wages ? Non starter

I quite fancy your alternative option but agree that he's unlikely to sign for us.

Ward and Ajose to go.
Not sure how serious Holmes' back injury is but if it's a way out of Oxford I would have him back in a flash, we are missing his running with the ball and the width he gave us.

If it is two out and two in, surely there needs to be a left back coming in as Bowyer keeps harping on about it. Ward likely leaving and hopefully Bowyer brings in a player that can play both midfield and striker. Irish/West Ham friend thinks there is dialogue with West Ham about loaning Conor Coventry, Irish under 19 player last year, big, strong midfielder, great engine.

Coventry made the bench last night for their game against Southampton, albeit they have about 15 injuries. Still, it must show that he's one of the more highly rated amongst their youngsters. I really liked watching Ricky play for us, but on reflection I think we're a more balanced and coherent team without him in the side. If he did come back, he'd need to show some humility and actually get his head up to pass the ball.

Would make sense. A left wing back is certainly what we need. A right wing back wouldn’t go amiss either.

The holding role has to go, it serves no purpose at all apart to satisfy Bowyer's obsession with it.

Pearce will be missing and so the back 3 will have to be Bauer Bielik and Naby or Anfernee 👍

Not to mention his set pieces,, We'd need to invest in extra pairs of white shorts - he'd need to change his several times a game with the amount of time he sits on his arse.

Richard Cawley @richcawleyslp #cafc do have interest in Greg Leigh but sounds as if other options being pursued as well. Don't think is nailed on he will be the LB they sign in the January transfer window.

West Ham: Samir Nasri signs for Hammers on day doping ban ends.
I would say the Cullen for Dack story is now bollocks.
