Please Reams close down this topic. It is a complete waste of time and the posts now don't at all relate to the heading. Seconded - please close the thread. A new one can be opened if there's a new bid. This site prides itself on being succinct and to the point - no time for waffling about what an ex CEO did back in 2015. It's noticeable that since a couple of fellow fans joined from Not606, most if not all threads have turned into relentless he said, she said bollocks with more than a dash of fake news and piss taking. Perhaps we can rise above said BS and simply discuss whether we are going to get any effing loans in... and how the squad is going to look on 9th August- all the rest is noise. Kevin - we play Blackburn on the 3rd, not the 9th ? That’s when we need to have strengthened by. Very quiet on the “players in” front yesterday.

My hobby is Charlton Home & Away, and I was going to ask Katrien Meire to be my girlfriend ...BEFORE you famously told everyone on here that you fancied her. And there's me thinking that you were a protester refusing to support the team at home. The only person/thing that I remember saying that I quite fancied on here was the female alien in Avatar. I seem to remember being told that that was fairly inappropriate. Still if you want to trawl through five years of posts, feel free. Just want to point out that I don't think it's me obsessed with Katrien Meire, is it? Cants - come & say hello if you see me at Blackburn on Saturday. We probably actually agree on quite a lot ...just not on KM & the damage she did.

Sounds like seriouslyred has written off the first game. We'll just have to get our 45 points from the same number of fixtures. Maybe we could plead poverty with the EFL ("look at this half empty subs' bench guv") and they would agree to postpone our opening game for a few weeks. I'm sure Blackburn wouldn't mind passing up the chance for three home banker points on the first day of the season. Or we could even ask the EFL to buy the whole Club? No, sorry. I'm being ridiculous there.

Let’s not start ganging up on bods- we need to stay unified- if not positive- about the hand we’ve been dealt 👍

You're new to the site but you can be sure there will be a thread on the game as well as one for transfer rumours. This one was about a possible takeover which clearly isn't happening right now. Hope this helps. PS you might want to start a new thread based around your search for some cajones ?

I reckon we would have a laugh. Obviously the next home game I will be there, but I wasn't sure whether you are a stay away for home games.

Planning to attend all 46 games.

Or did Sky simply read the minutes from the last fans forum?

These are the same Americans that were part of the Aussie bid but are looking at going it alone if a deal can be agreed ... no talks have taken place yet ... could still decide to rejoin AM and the Aussie group

Just something to say I suppose. Why would he say it if it wasn't true? Nothing to gain by doing so.

Are you for real? He works for Sky as a commentator, it's not a little secret he has that nobody else knows about. Sky obviously have sources of information and while commentating it was mentioned. I don't see what the issue is?

As well as mentioning a new buyer talking to Duchatelet, the Sky commentator also said the price of Charlton Athletic FC is now £50 million.
If Sky have sources of information and the mention of a new potential buyer is reliable information (not just the repeating of something heard elsewhere to pad out the commentary) is this valuation of £50 million also reliable information from a Sky source?
Was £50 million mentioned at the most recent fans forum meeting? If it was not, where did Sky get that information? As far as I know Duchatelet has never revealed how much he wants for the Club despite being pressed on it many times.
If the £50 million price was 'just something to say' to fill a few idle seconds while commentating, then I would suspect the mention of new buyers was also nothing more than that.

A Everton fan on a Sunderland board said this. Problem is a persons net worth means little.
We have been spending like a drunken sailor yet have done fuck all because we havent made the right decisions.
My own opinion is it takes a footballing person and a bit of luck to acheive something (think Levy and landing Pochettino who could easily have been another Silva).
I just wouldn't put alot of faith in a group of Yanks who know nothing about football just because they have cash on the hip.
You need a sound footballing man at the helm.

If this club can stay up, CAFC is worth £50M, in my opinion. It’s in London, it’s losing less money than almost any club in the division, has new pitches at the Academy and a solid stadium. If I was a billionaire and I liked football, liked going to London, Charlton would be an interesting choice. With proper investment over 2-3 seasons, a potential £200M valuation in the PL is not out of reach. It’s a smarter deal than buying a £200M Premier League club outside of London where relegation and a £50M valuation is always hanging over one’s head.

I wonder what Gallen would be capable of with a few quid behind him?
