I think we could have done with that transfer going through....
From the sources I have inside the club the funds were earmarked for a reserve goalkeeper and reserve CB.

I think the most interesting thing about reading Owls Talk is how disappointed they seem to be with there signings or lack of ...........kind of reminds me of some people !

If this deal is off, Charlton need to move him on elsewhere swiftly in order to free up some salary budget because he has no future at the Valley.
Decent player for us in his time but was a shadow of his former self when he eventually returned to the side after that game against Palace in 2012, when he was tormented by Zaha and Bolasie who twisted and turned him so comprehensively that he sustained a double facture in his foot.
Was surprised when Shef Wed came in for him; I'd have thought league one is a more likely destination.

My sheff wed mate just told me owners had changed off heart not willing to take risk on injury prone player This could be a problem for CAFC and Wiggins if Sheff Wed have pulled out due to Him being injury prone, They, Sheff Weds will now look elswhere which could well put off other clubs looking to sign Wiggins, maybe a reduced asking price might be a way forward for CAFC and the player.

In all honesty would you want to pay a fee for Wiggins, injury record only warrants a pay as you play deal imo.

Following on from my news last night it has been confirmed this morning as being off for now.
I expect this to have an impact on our own final recruitment surge so all the more reason to loan Mujangi Bia that but Henry, I'm not sure why RD's head of recruitment out in Belgium, Karel Fraeye can't see that, it really is a no brainer.

I did wonder as the Henry saga seems to be dragging on whether it's because the club really want Bia but SL are playing hard to get! Perhaps Henry is just a back up option if we can't land Bia!

A fee had been agreed with us and he underwent a medical on Monday, however personal terms appear to be the stumbling block.

This inability to close deals is becoming a bit too regular for my liking. We are on a journey from being the 40th club in the country up to the top 25 (hopefully).
Since this journey is not being accelerated with £3m transfers and a bloated squad of 30, our club needs to be very precise on execution of deals.
Overall the signings this summer look good on paper but we need the squad to be complete ready for the QPR game.

This one isn't down to our inability to close deals, it's more a case of Rhoys asking for more than what Sheff Weds are prepared to offer at this stages.
As for ourselves slightly concerned about the quantity rather than quality we have at the moment, add that to a very disjointed pre-season and I think we are a t least a couple of weeks behind the clubs who did their business earlier and had an organised summer.
We may have bought 7 in but haven't really addressed the ongoing issues in that we still need a striker, attacking midfielder, Left sided midfielder and a CB come RB and if we think an 18 year old from West Ham will solve that problem then we really are not on the ball at all.

Just looking around the forums, does this Reece Burke joining on loan mean the end of us trying to get Lenglet? On paper they're the exact same thing.

I have heard the word 'loan' mentioned in the Lenglet deal but whether that means we buy him and loan him back or we loan him from Nancy I'm not sure, seems to be very much maybe - maybe not, though.

This is spot on. Hopefully, some more action from the club will happen before the end of the transfer window to address some of those areas to strenghen. Maybe space for some decent quality loans.

valleyt I addressed this on the rumours thread. We already have an attacking midfielder in Cristian Cabellos. That's how he got goals in Tottenham's reserves and at Barcelona. He can also play left wing or a striker. Bergdich can also play left wing or left back so whatever formation Luzon decides to play we have options. The right side is covered also with JBG. I agree however we need a right back and a striker. I think we will end up with a new right back for definate.

we still need a striker, attacking midfielder, Left sided midfielder and a CB come RB So after seven signings we still need four more - that's not very realistic, is it?

we still need a striker, attacking midfielder, Left sided midfielder and a CB come RB So after seven signings we still need four more - that's not very realistic, is it? The signings to date and the shape of the squad looks like 3-5-2 which actually means we need Pope to shape up or decent cover + another centre back. Wiggins, Solly, Nego and Bergdich can all play wingback so I think the question is not about replacing Bulot but more about whether centre mid options are good enough... And will Reza step up until Vetokele is fit. We need quality additions to climb the league and it will be a crying shame if we trip up in August or later in the season for the sake of just a couple of players. I think on paper we are improving but we aren't cracking on into the top eight...Unless these new signings + Luzon are a cut above. One answer to the immediate question is FAPL loans and I really hope we play that card well...you can't argue with Coquelin, Pritchard, Bamford etc.

Moussa also changing shirt number to 44, in relation to the amount of minutes he has played for the club thus far.

A loyal servant and a player who didn't jump ship when we were faced with that relegation battle. I never had too many worries about our defence when him and Solly were playing.

Very good full back for us, shame about his injuries. Good luck to him and thanks for the memories.

This should free up money for James Henry, a right back on loan and Stuart Taylor on a short term deal.
