If he gats an offer of 8-10 million 3 for Gomez the owner will bite their hands off for it. Will bring the club into break even posistion, nad maybe some cash for a new player.

Personally, I don't think £8 million is enough for Gomez unless there are massive add ons, he's a future England CB in my book!

Hopefully not but most likely that there is. Personally I would prefer to hang on to him and sell next summer, as I reckon we would get more. But would reluctantly be willing to sell this year so long as we got a decent fee (at least the £8m quoted in the article) and he was loaned back to us for next season.

I would gladly sell him to Arsenal, if:
1. We get £10million 2. We get 15% of his future sale and 10% of the one after that 3. He is loaned back to us for another season 4. Arsenal give us first option on any players available for loan.
With those terms, we could buy our way to promotion.

Buyens and Gudmundson said last night that his best option is a big money move with a loan back to us for a year or two. They think he'll play for England one day!

One thing these reporters are forgetting He is under contract and the player does not want to leave
So what does Charlton do simple anyone wants him the price is 15 mill plus add ons for future transfer and England caps , plus loan back for 12 months plus a player on loan

And I always wonder about the terminology when we read that a promising young player is "linked" with an "8 million" move to Man City or Arsenal. Does it mean that Pelligrini or Wenger has expressed a willingness to part with 8 million for him? No, of course not. It means linked as in: + a greedy agent dreaming of his commmission making a phone call to a journo hungry for a line + some low-level scout at the very bottom of the chain who may have watched him and filed a 'promising' report to Man City and Arsenal + someone slightly higher up the scouting pyramid at Man City or Arsenal may have placed that report in a file called 'worth another look' or 'worth keeping an eye on' Anyway, as we are allegedly a feeder club for Duchatalet's other clubs, surely Standard Liege get first refusal?

Great player so we need to get a decent fee. We sell one player and bring in five would make good sense.

By Richard Cawley
JOE Gomez has been told he will be a key first-team player at Charlton next season.
And Addicks head coach Guy Luzon says that the teenage defender - watched by all of the country’s top clubs - should stay at The Valley to boost his own development.
Gomez has been linked with an £8million summer exit.
But Luzon said: “With all respect, Joe is not in the place to play at Arsenal or Manchester City. He is too young. He has a lot of space to improve.
“The right decision for him, and for us, is for him to stay and get more experience.
“This season he has not played all the games - the next step is next season when he will be one of our key players.”
Luzon also reckons winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson, 24, wants to see Charlton’s intent before he commits to a new deal.
The Addicks have offered the Icelandic international fresh terms but he only has just over a year to go on his current contract.
Luzon said: “I know Johann wants to stay but he also wants the club to have ambition for success, like all of us.”
The Addicks boss is already clued up on where the South Londoners need to add to their squad this summer.
Speaking after the 3-0 defeat on the final day of the season against Bournemouth, Luzon said: “This game didn’t change anything.
“I know after three months exactly what I have in my hands and who are my players. We need to upgrade some positions and keep key players.”

I make Luzon wrong on the above unless of course he is being coy.
If Guy wants to upgrade and strengthen in certain positions he'll need money to do it so sell Joe on the basis that he stays with us all of next season because he'll get sold eventually anyway.
The money though must be spent on new players - all of it!

The money though must be spent on new players - all of it! Duchatelet is very wealthy and the FFP loss limits go up to £13m so the club doesn't have to sell. Re. Gudmundsson, Buyens and Bulot I reckon they will be sold if they refuse new terms as they all have one year left. So I expect to see one or two of them in our shirt next time. Of course Luzon might be just playing the game but I like the confident language about knowing where to strengthen after three months. The board have played a very quiet game and I really hope they are successful at landing key targets over the summer. The easy bit will be more Liege loans. The hard part will be competing with many other Championship clubs to sign talent which will improve our squad.

Some guy on CL came up with this simple solution. Keep Gomez for another season, risk 10 million player investment on a promotion push, then if it doesn't come off...sell Gomez.
'kin brilliant!

There are a few so called in the know experts claiming he'll go for between £3m - £3.5m That might be the price given out but there will be add on's and the true fee will be nearer £7m.

We really need to get as much as we can upfront and insist on a loan back. Even assuming that Bauer signs, we are pitifully short at centre back and adequate replacements are going to cost money!

We have a very close working relationship with Arsenal through helping Song and Coquelin to emerge into what they are today and it suits all parties if Joe goes to the Emirates.
Reasons behind that are he won't have to relocate, any loan player involved coming our way won't have far to go either, both of these small facts won't apply if he goes to Liverpool or Man City.
Liverpool have made a bid yes which will increase with add on's but that does not mean that other clubs are out of the equation, all they have to do is offer more than the Scousers have and I understand from a very close source that Arsenal are set to table a bid that will be difficult for us not to accept. We are insisting on having Joe back on loan next season so this is a clause of any deal. Maybe Arsene Wenger will go a bit further knowing our success rate of giving his young stars game time and loan us either Krystian Bielik or Gedion Zelalem to us who are talented midfielders and one of Serge Gnabry or Chuba Akpom who are both strikers.

Is the bid from Liverpool £5m now and another £5m over the next 12 months?.
