My answer is yes I think we need a different type of player up there with Watt.
As the season has gone on we have got one good game in four out of him and that just isn't enough.

No way
He as had an excellent season and next season he will be stronger and fitter and a better player
We still need a target man a diff option

Agree with Bexley. He is more than worth a place in the squad, but not necessarily as an automatic starter as he has been this season.
If the rumours about Roland splashing his cash in the summer are true, we shouldn't need to sell him in order to strengthen the squad.

Personally I think his touch is shocking , not impressed me for ages and always looks knackered

His touch has really let him down recently, maybe after summer he'll be revitalised? I hope we don't get rid of him.

Interesting question, it depends a lot on what we could get for him. His early season form was excellent and I thought we had signed a gem, I'm not so sure now but as franko says a good rest during the summer and he could come back revitalised. He's still young and has time to develop further.
Get a good price and replace him with quality
OR
Keep him and see if he can get his form back?
I dunno!

You keep your better players, unless silly money offers come in.

As I put elsewhere - don't play him again this season, get his Achilles right and see a revitalised player next season.

You keep your better players, unless silly money offers come in. Yes on the old days under Curbs it was five in five out every summer... And those released never came back to haunt us. These days there is the small matter of no announcement on ambition: Are we going for the fastest possible route to a top eight squad OR are they looking to sell some talent to cover the losses? Our first clue will be who they keep and who they release in May/June. As long as there is a stream of new talent arriving then I don't have an issue with an occasional sale.

It's a hard one for me, it's clear he has ability as we saw early in the season, however, since his injury he's been, let's be honest awful, absolutely no commitment, flair or to be honest ability. Just seems to stroll around the pitch, doesn't run on to passes and always seems to lose the ball when it's played in to his feet. Before people jump on my back I understand it's all down to his injury, and without it I have no doubt he would still be scoring as many as he was at the start of the season. So for me, if this injury can be overcome between now and next season, then no, definitely not, we have a premier league standard player. If not, we need to sell and look for someone else, I'm sure there are some great options around Europe for 2-4m.

We will sell any player if the right offer comes in for them.
The difference now is that it would appear that if the Head Coach wants to keep a particular player, then the sum required to take one of our players needs to be significant. Enough to ensure we could replace them with a perceived better at the very least.

IMO No, Watt doesn't score enough goals (but i don't think Watt is fit enough either) get Igor fit and we'll see what sort of player we have.
Not having a pop at Watt, Tony Watt is a provider.
Reminds me of Andy Hunt, great finsher for Charlton but not really a Prem striker, doesn't get the legendary status Mendonca does yet Hunt score 3 or 4 hattricks away from home and scored 5 goals less than super clive.
Keep him

Vetokele was immense at the start of the season but faded away.

Poor game after poor game, he and Watt are too lightweight as a pair, one of them has to go and a different type of striker brought in.

They both looked absolutely done for and need a complete rest and return to pre-season free from injury. We need a powerful striker who can lead the line!

We need three or four quality strikers come August. For me Watt is no.1 and I'd put Reza as no.3! No idea what it takes to get Vetokele to work and we need a big fella for the fourth. Make no mistake top clubs in this division cover the angles and top strikers is where we've been short these last few years.

Another no show form Vetokele this afternoon before he went off with another injury. Sorry but if we are going to win anything next season he or Watt have to be replaced by a 20 goal striker during the summer, they are not strong enough individually or as a pair.
Just look at the front two of the top three or four in the table then compare them with Watt and Igor? No comparison.

With all due respect I don't see Garner as a good signing, even though I admire him as a player. Would prefer Baptiste and a proven CHAMPIONSHIP striker next year. Chris wood? not getting any time at Leicester and if they stay up they'll deffo buy a much better striker. Wilson on loan from united? especially as a quality striker is on the cards for them with falcao and rvp failing to perform Bamford? Unlikely but I can dream

A poor decision to play Igor today. He is clearly not fit and should have been rested weeks ago. Don't think we should sell him as we saw at the start of the season, what an asset he can be. He needs to get fit and also have competition for his place.

Chris Wood is hopeless mate to be honest, living off one good season.

After his pitiful performance today against Bournemouth and most of his 2015 appearances, we'd probably have to let him go for free and make a contribution towards his wages as part of the deal.

Get him fit over the summer, then if he's still dire next season sell him in January.
