Don't forget Johnson has made his contribution to your defence. I said he'd do you some good.

I'm prepared to eat humble pie and you can throw as much of it my way as you like.
Watt was superb today and nobody is more happy than me to see him turn his career around.
I am not going to get into arguments because some Charlton fans are not worth my time or expertise on European Football.
It's these same people who are judging Tony based on what they have seen him do in a Charlton shirt, they don't have a scooby who he was or what he was before he signed for us and that is where we differ.
Based on his pre-Charlton days I stand by what I said and why I said it, he was a poor player with a poor attitude but hey if his move down South benefits us and him then that's great news.
He has got his act together and today Huddersfield could not handle him, I was right behind where his second hit the back of the net and I was out of my seat as soon as it left his boot.
A reborn Tony Watt can shut me up all he likes.

His second goal was sheer class, the best that I have seen at The Valley for some time. He frightened the life out of the Huddersfield defence when he ran at them. Lets hope we can keep him at CAFC for a couple of years.

Glad you were there reams to see him live , and good on you for being big enough to admit he was class today . Looks like he is genuinely enjoying his football and as long as that continues we have a player on our hands

Agree with most of this except that I don't think he was a poor player before but perhaps just frustrated and misunderstood and therefore this echoed his performances on the pitch... Takes a big man to hold his hands up Reams so good on Ya, there are many who won't..

If I am wrong I'll say I'm wrong but like I have already said my opinions were based on what I have seen of him this season and I stand by them. In saying that if you are low on confidence and unhappy somewhere your performance will be the first thing to be affected so clearly the new lease of life he has been given has helped to bring out a talent that I didn't see before yesterday so long may it continue.
I do chuckle though how people have been tripping over themselves in a hurry to put me straight on him......
I wouldn't mind so much but these are the same people especially on CL who were slagging off Ben Haim before he signed. They also told us that Roger Jonhson is bad news and will cause dressing room unrest. They were slagging off our own manager in his first game who disgustingly got booed. They also have written off Lepoint after 20 minutes.
There are many other examples but I really can't be asked wasting my Sunday Morning discussing a handful of low life Charlton fans on a deranged Charlton forum who are clearly a sandwich short of a picnic.
One of the fool's on there described me last night as a twat during a personal attack. His actual words were:
He's a twat IMO. Dad was first team coach under Lawrence so thinks he knows it all. In reality knows diddly.
Now my Dad was Assistant Manager not a coach so it's really difficult to try and take this bell end seriously when he clearly doesn't know his stuff.
Another one of the CL dropped on their heads at birth brigade is a guy called Rob and he is happily slagging me and this forum off to his little heart is a content then admits to his fellow 15 year old pals on there that he posts on here under a different name!!!! Why bother if you hate us that much you numpty? There are others but they are not worth my time, I do however wish them though a a slow painful recovery from their sad, worthless and miserable little lives.

You can only call what you see and Reams does see more - 100% more than me - of Belgian football. So if Watt didn't do the buisness at Liege the view may have turned out to be wrong, but was based on evidence. I think this highlights one of the things the network has to get on top of. And that is that British Football is different to European football. And this applies even more so to the Championship. For me, the big advantage you can have in the Championship is goals in your side. Opponents are athletic and well organised but they don't like being run at by quality players. The network have acted to fix what we were all saying was close at the start of the season a bit late. Probably too late, but 9 or 10 wins from our remaining games is not impossible now there are goals in us.

muttley I would back myself against anybody in terms of knowledge of Belgian, Dutch and French football, I would be happy to give Katriene a list with the names of 5 players on and accept a life ban from the Valley if the club watched them and did not at least follow up on one of them.
I could do you a thorough and comprehensive profile on every Standard Liege, Gent and Lokeren player in 30 minutes as these are the teams that I have sat for hours and watched. I could say the same about Caen, Guingamp and Lens players where I watch lower league teams who have good players. In Holland it's PEC Zwolle and second division NEC Nijmegen that i sit and watch.
Anyway back to Tony Watt and Liege. I still stand by my assessment of him during his time in Belgium and if anybody is willing to show me footage of him playing out there which would ridicule my verdict on him then please do so as I will be more than happy to see it.

LURKER What did I say? Anyhow, it looks like Luzon is doing you a lot of good and that Duchatalet can recognise a decent manager. Powell wouldn't do as he was told, the first one he brought in was fine until he slagged off the team so he had to go and this one looks even better. Be careful what you wish for is a useful adage; he seems to know what he's doing and he's settling in nicely. If he takes you to the upper reaches of the table next season then I suppose all this recent bother will swept under the carpet and (nearly) everyone will sing his praises.

For me I would not criticise the managers(although I will stand by the fact of Riga, Peeters and Luzon having a managerial history which they should all think they are lucky to be, or have managed at this level). Luzon is with us and we have seen a change of style and we are progressing thankfully, long may it continue. As what is going on off the pitch I do not trust the Belgians as far as I can throw them.

A thorough and comprehensive review of Liege would be most helpful as it is inevitable that we will see more of their players come our way over the summer. If people don't speak their mind then nothing of any interest is shared. On the other channel fans rushed to slate Bulot and Buyens because they came from Liege. Now we have a coach who can get the best out of them we are starting to see a different team. My only guide to date has been transfermarkt and that has told me that Bulot and Watt were always going to improve us because they are rated so much higher than the likes of Church and Harriott. The only thing we can hope for and the only thing M.Duchatelet can deliver is continuous improvement. I would state that our team is better now than it was six months back. In turn that was better than the squad from last season. If we step up again this summer then we are laughing. So Watt if someone calls it wrong on a player?! They are human and they change - at one point I thought Harriott might really push on but I don't think so now. Whereas Gomez and Cousins will be worth a fortune in years to come. As long as the club can retain and improve the best AND acquire decent players from Liege and elsewhere then we are going to have a great 2015-16.

Who on here can honestly say that they haven't been completely wrong about a player (or several) at some stage?
I remember thinking that Pawel Abbott looked decent the first time I saw him.

I was speaking to a Charlton regular yesterday (he went to the meeting last week and was against the "walkout" which didn't happen anyway) and his view was that he was really pleased with Luzon, really pleased with the team and really pleased with the owner. He recognised that Peeters got off to a good start but in the end he had to go for the reason expressed on here that there was trouble in the changing room. He also said that all of his Charlton pals were happy with the current situation as well. I get a completely different view on here and I find that very confusing. I quoted the comment on here that the players "aren't ours" and his reply was that "...none of the players are ever ours anyway". Why are some the posters here up in arms about the owner/team/manager?

I don't think they are mate it's CL that seems so against it.
On here I think it's 50/50 but 80/20 in terms of being prepared to give RD and GL a chance.
Going back to CL I have had lots of feedback lately on why people have left and come over here. Most say that it's gone too anti RD which it has. The mistake they made was allowing CAST to use it as their platform and that is where all of the negativity was born and continued growing since.
