I'm trying to find the positives in a player who has only made 22 combined senior appearances for Lyon and Sporting and the only one I can come up with is, that he is young and thus will have tons of energy and will be a welcome extra squad player, as long as he isn't TBH's replacement, can't complain.

Does he even speak English? No? Well he'll fit right in with Luzon!

How do you know he is chaff? Have you seen him play? I have, for the French U20 team. He looked excellent.I quite understand passing comment on players that you have seen, there has been a fair amount of chaff amongst that lot. But i hope he does well for us.

I am really excited about this one. It could sell another 10,000 season tickets. The 21 year old has played a whole 2 games for Sporting Lisbon since 2012. Where does RD find them

Have a look at his career stats to date. Its yet another cheap foreign punt (spelling.....), funded by another behind the scenes transaction involving RD and his chess pieces. Luzon comes in and the first thing he demands is: "Get me Mouhamadou Naby Sarr" Our Scouts must be pissing themselves.

@dickplumb
Wasn't Yassin Moutakhil (sic) supposed to be the next Lixarazu?
Charlton prostitutes itself under RD yet again.

Reported on CAFC News and CAFC Transfer News. He made 4 senior appearances for Sporting Lisbon Another cheap foreign import placed in the English shop window for reasons that have nothing to do with: 1. Merit 2. Charlton P.S; The kid from Spurs, for those who have yet to see him, is on a par with Cousins but nowhere near as good as Diego Poyet. #Progress

Now I'm not saying I think he's good as i've not seen him play, but according to Transfer Markt he's had some game time this season. www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mouhamadou-naby-sarr/profil/spieler/203532I do however think that other areas in the squad need firming up. If this deal does go through, I can see TBH going in the other direction.

You have got to be pretty stupid, or biased,to say someone is chaff when you haven't seen him play. You can say that of all players in Europe that you haven't seen. I have seen him twice which is two times more than you have seen him. So my opinion is more informed than yours. He is good enough for Sporting Lisbon to have offered him a contract till 2020 with a large buy out clause. He might well turn out to be chaff, but let us give him a chance eh.

With respect dick - you were so disillusioned with RD's transfer policy that you have given your season ticket away, & stopped going.
Not a criticism, BTW.

The wiki page is a little out of date I think. According to Transfermarkt he's played 17 games in total 2014/2015 (8 in the league, 4 in the champions league, where he scored against Schalke).
Maybe not the experienced championship defender we were hoping for, but far from pony.

Maybe not the experienced championship defender we were hoping for, but far from pony. Every fan who goes regularly says the same thing - we need 3/4 new British Championship-standard players in order to stay up. Think Ben Hamer, Michael Morrison, Johnnie Jackson and AN Other striker such as Le Fondre, or Glen Murray. That standard. Instead, we keep getting punts and Cazrlos Kickaballs whom our Scouts are NOT scouting (source- Bob Peeters). It is not just the team. Fans are voting with their feet. I am guessing we had about 500 at Wolves on Saturday. People just feel no affinity for this constant revolving door/shop window transfer policy. This kid is getting game time with us as part of an RD deal.

I'm not disagreeing with you Royston.
I just think to write the lad off before he arrives is harsh. On paper he's a step up from some of the players that arrived last season on loan.

thesunisredIt is just so fucking depressing to constantly be linked with loans/freebies/non entities - all from overseas, and all signed for reasons that have nothing to do with Charlton. The Club is losing its soul by the day now.

I never actually said he was chaff did I sir? And because you the almighty dick plumb says he is excellent therefore he is excellent. Why should I take your opinion fully. How do I know your a good judge of a footballer. But because the almighty dick plumb has spoken with his informed opinion I must question no more. Look deeper, why would Lyon sell him if he was excellent?? Why hasn't he gone to a bigger club if he is excellent? Why do the majority of Lyon fans think he was just all height and lacked technique and composure . Why would a player who played 5 games for France in their 2013 under World Cup victory end up at Portugals third biggest team and not the big european Giants. Also take into account that the lad is only 20, how difficult will it be for him to move to a new country with a different language. Also the lower leagues of English football is like leagues no other, the results in the fa cup tell you something this weekend with all the giant killings, this boy will be used to nice continental football, not the rough and tumble of the championship, but we must, not forget he is excellent because duck plumb has seen him play, therefore he holds the most informed opionion and therefore he is correct.

But I would be deemed stupid for thinking they' were good because I have never seen them play, ridiculous.

I wonder if old Dickie Murray will come out with another of his 'I don't have a clue' classics like he did when we signed Souleymaine Diawara!!
Back then he said that the Frenchman was the best centre half that he had never heard of!!

I know this is a radical idea but why don't you make your own mind up after having seen him play, just a thought. There is too much reliance on stats. They don't tell the whole story, this man has played in the Champions League. I only make my mind up about a player that comes in after I have seen him play for us. There have been many players, over the years, who have come into our Club that I have been excited about and they have done nothing. Also when players like Kermorgant and Mendonca joined I was underwhelmed, but they didn't turn out badly.

Back then he said that the Frenchman was the best centre half that he had never heard of!! In fairness, Diawara did go on to have a very good career once he left us, winning the french league three times, once with Bordeaux and twice with Marseille. It was a case of wrong club wrong time for him.

Good signing France Under 21 pkayer with a big future 6"5 great size and has pace .... Something we don't have in our back four
How people can attack RD is just pathetic for this signing ....the club can sign players on their own and he another not from the network .

Give the lad a chance, he has played for Sporting Lisbon against Schalke in the Champions League and did a good job on Huntelaar and also scored from a Nani free kick.

All you doubters who have so much to say on how our club is run and who they employ is beyond me if bullshit had a value then feck me we would have the riches club in the league Why don't you put your money where your mouth is rather than hiding behind a forum and front it head on Just a thought

I haven't seen him in person so don't know how tall he is, but I can't wait to use your new radical idea, thanks for your enlightenment dick plumb.
