We need four or five good players in as soon as the window is open, never mind the usual bullshit of waiting until deadline day, the squad is not good enough and needs some decent players added to it straight away.
All I ask for is players who will improve us, I am sick of the hard to beat label because of the contentment to draw games it has brought.
I want to see players from our shores being signed up, Grigg and Ali at MK Dons for example and Knockeart at Leicester, then maybe bring Coquelin back from Arsenal on loan along with the striker they are willing to loan out.
What I don't want to see is more recycled rubbish playing in the Belgian reserve League being signed up or the crap that Standard Liege have to offer.

I've mentioned in the post match thread that we will understand further Roly's ambitions during January. We need to make an early statement as Reams says not faf around to deadline day to bring in some low grade loans.
If we do the club could see demand for 1/2 season tickets if we don't crowd attendances and our league position will steadily fall winter turns to spring!

Aaron Leya Iseka is a young striker from Anderlecht who is tipped for a great future in the game but yet to make a first team start despite being listed as a first team player and not in their under 19 or 21 sides. He is the younger brother of Michy Batshuayi formerly of Standard Liege. Anderlecht have another young lad called Yoeri Tielemans who at 17 is almost an ever present in their side this season. Despite his age he's a strong robust midfielder. www.rsca.be/en/first-team/players/aaron-leya-iseka7www.rsca.be/en/first-team/players/youri-tielemans

So we could end up with Reza and Watt? I suppose they are the cheapest option but nowhere near the answer to the problem.

Reams , I see that you have tipped Aaron Leya Iseka for a good future - is there any truth in the possibility that he will be coming to us soon? (as touted on CL?)

I read that he is tipped for a bright future along with another youngster who plays in the first team at Anderlecht.
Haven't seen it touted on CL but I did note that his name appeared on there out of the blue after I put it up on here and let's be honest it isn't a random name anybody would relate to unless they had seen it somewhere else first.
There is no Charlton connection that I know of but I read the football pages in LeSoir, a Belgian newspaper and noted that they gave Iseka a mention because of his Brother and just thought that as Anderlecht are looking to loan him out so he can learn the trade we might be interested because of the Liege link.

On the post match views thread after Blackburn a poster said he'd heard a whisper saying we had 5 players lined up includinf a 17 year old striker from anderlecht

Surely Cole would rather stay in London.

Would prefer having Cole over Holt if I were asked.

I thought Cole's attitude was diabolical when he played for us before, but maybe it's improved since then

I'd definitely take him, would be good signing for this division. Not sure Cole would want to come back though, we gave him alot of stick when we played Aston Villa at home. I'll never forget him for the winner at Spurs

At this level Cole could be a good signing, he's older- perhaps he's wiser now!

There was a man with a red suit and a reindeer outside the valley last night so maybe he is one of our many signings

I understand that Holt has been dreadful for H'field, but Cole would be quality at this level. He's grown up since we had him last (you only sweat when you're roasting).

He's certainly desperate to get away from Wigan and has told the French press "Un club qui met 4 millions sur un joueur et qui ne le fait pas jouer, on a du mal à le comprendre" (basically French for 'I don't know what f**k Wigan think they're doing messing me around like this'.) He claims he's spent more time watching Man City and Liverpool than playing football since his arrival in Lancashire. But he's also told the French press that he wants to return to France. Montpelier and Lens named as possibilities.

He let us down at the last minute, that's why we don't have a number 9 shirt allocated and decided to go to Wigan who his Agent or Father believed had a better chance of Premier League football than little 'ol Charlton.
Believed our fee was £2.5m and Wigan's £4m, which would also have swayed him, signing on fee increase?
As for us taking him on loan - No Thanks - he let RD ;-|and us down by not signing after intimating everything in the garden was rosy and he'd sign at end of window, he didn't and we were left with egg on our faces, let him suffer up north, there's no easy ride to CAFC in south London for him.
