And you may as well chuck the rest of our over rated so called exciting youngsters in too..........
Individually or collectively they are not fit to lace Parker's boots, Shelvey's or Jenkinson's either come to that, they are average in fact very average footballers who are out of their league.
As for the moronic Charlton wankers at the game slagging Parker off tonight, you are nothing but a bunch of brain dead hypocrites. Calling Parker a greedy bastard is a bit rich when the same idiots were giving Diego Poyet their blessing for leaving the club for the same reason in the summer.
Scott Parker will always be a Charlton legend, we had better players in his day and much better supporters too. I expect most of those jeering him tonight were not even born or following the club when he was an Addick.
I was reminded tonight why I don't have any desire to share my Saturday afternoons with these pricks.

And your point is? Was he going to be a better player than Parker was in 25 minutes?
Weird.
I'll tell you what I'll take KAG out of the equation because he has done more in 5 minutes than what the likes of Cousins and Wilson have during the whole game.

Oh dear, reams. Someone or something has upset you very badly tonight. Cousins was more than decent tonight. Fox did OK. And KAG was bloody superb.

karlan looked very lively , arsenal would not have been interested in him if he was crap . Second half was the best we have played for a while but we need a strong target man

Have they?
The facts are I can tear myself away from the blind loyalty that some of you lot show sometimes and dare to crcriticise. I tell it as I see it and what I saw tonight is just not good enough. Any owner who is prepared to limp on with a stretched squad that fails to impact on a game sufficiently over 90 minutes to win it week in week out like we are at the moment is a cnut.
Please don't start me on Fox, he was crap from the first minute to the last, he is crap.
It makes me laugh when fans say so and so was great for 45 minutes, do you deem playing well for half a game as ok then? What if I went into work on mOnday and thought oh fuck it for the first half of my shift?
We had our best players out and you appear to think it's ok for a player to put in half a shift as cover? To a man tonight we had to raise our game an extra 10% but at least 5 players fell well short of that.

Fox was poor I will agree on that, but the younger players need more than a game every blue moon to get into stride.

So it's a toss up then between giving them game time and winning matches because the youngsters we have, Gomez apart and possibly KAG on tonight's effort need more than a game.

Well we have no other choice than Fox as far as I am aware,I don't mean give them a game for the sake of it but we should be giving them, as fans, a chance to get used to being in the first team before writing them off surely?

This isn't constructive criticism. It is a destructive and cruel assault on a bunch of young lads full of promise, working really hard and in several cases already doing a very good job.

So in the OP you say all are youngsters are over rated and crap but a few posts in KAG and Gomez are ok?
Rather than getting worked up about it I think you should realise you are a Charlton fan, we won't win every game. Not every kid we bring through will be the next Ronaldo, or even Parker. I am just happy that we have improved from last season, have some of these younguns signed on decent length contracts so should improve over 12 months as they get more confidence.

In your opinion IA. Nobody is beyond criticism, that's the problem with our fans, too goody goody for their own good. If a player has had a poor game or doesn't look like he is going to fulfill his potential I will say so, I don't care how old he is or who has an issue with it. If anybody thinks Morgan Fox has a future in the game at this level I suggest they go and get themselves checked out. If anybody thinks we are still producing the level of youngsters we were 5/10 years ago, I suggest you go with them.

Most of the "break his fecking legs" shouts came from 40/50 year old meat heads fueled up at Spoons or on the boat up from Greenwich m8

Who are the youngsters of 5-10 years ago you are referring to? Josh Wright? Harry Arter? Wagstaff? Wilson? Randolph, Elliot.
Parker is 34. He came through 15+ years back or something now. Same with Konchesky and Defoe so I assume you are not meaning them. Before that you have to go back 20 odd years to Rufus/Brown etc and even further to Walsh/Elliot/Gough/Primus etc

KAG looked very lively when he came on. Too early to judge, but I'd be keen to see him included in future squads. Cousins was much better when played in the middle (as always). Why we persist with him out wide is beyond me. Gomez has looked decent each time I've seen him and Harriot, for all his inconsistencies and faults, definitely hasn't been given a fair chance this season based on his performances at the end of last season.

One of the few things I enjoyed about tonight was seeing Parker again to be honest. Even though he's a shadow of the player he was, there were still glimpses of what made him the best player I've ever seen in a red shirt.

At half time I had already written the game off and to be frank I didn't bother going to the live game even though it's only 20 minutes from work...Same thing last Saturday when my boss (a Chelsea fan who comes from Bournemouth) offered me a lift to the game. Why - because I didn't fancy our chances and I don't think we have to win every game. Next Saturday is different - we need to perform and deliver - it's a results business. As they stated on Sky we have blooded seven academy players since the start of last season and you can add Harriott, Solly and Wilson to that list. Some won't make it, some will be sold and some will carry on the journey as... And get this...as CAFC keeps moving forwards every six months. Remember 14 more points by game 23 and we are in the top six give or take. And that means two more quality signings. Who knows who goes out the door in January but the academy is covering the gaps right now and that adds a lot more value to CAFC long term than loans and rubbish signings. If we had signed a loan striker we wouldn't have seen Ahearne-Grant... If we don't trust Pope or Fox or whoever, why not buy in better cover. In fact why stop there why not replace Wiggins and Henderson and anyone else who has a bad game? Except if M.Duchatelet did that across six clubs he'd burn €100m fairly quickly and then the next €100m. Just like Al Fayed or QPR or Cardiff... And that's not what CAFC nor M.Duchatelet is about. Sure we need better academy players and that's why they have planning secured for Cat 1 Academy status - within three months of landing. It all takes time - I'm going to sit back and relax - enjoy more wins than I saw last season. Maybe we have our highest finish in seven years or maybe we wait until 2015-16 but we will be climbing back up that league sooner or later...and with five or six academy graduates playing regularly.

Don't know why you call yourself a supporter reams all you do is slate your team and the youngsters coming through. Some of our recent young players have been excellent to name a few Gomez , KAG, poyet (before he joined wet spam), cousins, harriot in spells. However you wouldn't know that as you hardly ever see them live, yet always have a opinion on them and the fans that go week in week out, home and away. We were fourth in premier league when Parker refused to play for us and then jumped ship to Chelsea, I would say the fans calling him a greedy bastard last night were likely to have been around when he played for us.

I'm not slating the team at all, I am being critical of two poor performances this week which I am allowed to do just as I am allowed to praise us like I did up until a month ago, since then the levels have dropped individually and collectively and so has the managers. We got done by identical corners against Birmingham and Bournemouth, we also conceded early against Bournemouth and Fulham. The amount of times I have seen them live has nothing to do with you or anybody else, it does not make me any less of a fan before you say it does. What I do know is I was around when we were producing. Parker, Brown, Konchesky, Newton, Minto etc etc so I have had the advantage of having watch most of our youngsters over a number of years and I am of the opinion to say that we are producing nowhere near the same calibre as we have in the past. An example of this is people raved at Poyet, he's not good enough to lace Parker's boots.

The OP talks of Jenkinson, Shelvey and Parker - all proven premier league players. Right now we have six(?) academy players in our first 18 and we are 7th in the Championship about to drop a couple of places at 5pm today. I don't know where we will finish but I do know for sure that those six will be nine months older next August and at their age that makes a big difference. The squad for 2015-16 is going to similar to this season but a year older. And who can predict the first XI come August apart from Henderson, Bikey and Vetokele. We might have up to five new signings and Church will be gone. But it's impossible to state which academy players will hold down their place(Solly Cousins) and which will step up to play more (Gomez, Aherne-Grant)
Would be great to perform every game but we are not there yet - as before, November will tell us where we are going so nothing less than a win vs Wednesday does it for me.

We have three Seriously Red, Gomez, KAG and Cousins on a good day.....The rest are just not good enough and let's not be kidded by the reason why they are in the squad. The likes of Munns, Fox and Harriot are in it on default, we are wafer thin, they are not in it on merit.
That might be pretty damning but it's the truth.

Well at least it's an improvement on your original post last night which said that all of them "are average in fact very average footballers who are out of their league"! For what it is worth, I agree with you about the booing every time Parker touched the ball. Made me embarrassed to be a Charlton supporter.

Ridiculous thing to say salmon. How about because of Parker's talents we found ourselves in that position in the first place?
