Did you back any winners, Paul ?
A couple of horses to take out of the weekend were Glenaagles and the Dermot Weld horse Free ? , which will now run the Champion Stakes at HQ.
I am not a fan of Joseph O'Brien and his poor rides on Austrailia (went too wide) and Leading Light (far too far behind his pacemaker) were not untypical. I could name a dozen jocks who would do a better job for Coolmore.

Hi Royston you wouldn't believe some of the stuff I got up to, walked Australia off the track after the race and met JFK too.
Spot on about Australia though Joseph went far too wide in a messy race, I was there when Aiden gave his press conference, I was standing next to John McGrath the Aussie commentator at the time too.
Watch out for some pictures.
On a serious note I was lucky to escape the Curragh in one piece as I was attacked and very nearly put on my arse by Hurricane Fly who was being paraded as part of the champions parade. His lad could not contain him and he came at me to take a piece out of me and reared up to kick out with his front hooves, and this was on the track.
No joking mate I thought I was in trouble for a second or two, found out after he is known for it and he's hard to control.

At the Curragh and Leopardstown. Firstly, the brilliant Australia beaten by The Grey Gatsby but the dual Derby winner is a serious horse who will head to Ascot and put the record straight in October. Again I had the pleasure of meeting one of the World's best just like I have with Frankel, Galileo and Sea the Stars. I walked him off the track on Saturday and will try and put the video up on here. Another serious Ballydoyle horse and for me next years Derby winner, John F Kennedy. Along with Sir Henry Cecil, the greatest trainer that there has ever been - Aiden O'Brien with me at Leopardstown last Saturday and with me and my Brother Andy at The Curragh on Sunday. What a Gentlemen Johnny Murtagh - What a jockey this man was as was Michael Kinane below. The Trainer of Sea the Stars and Sinndar - John Oxx. Michael Tabor

Great photos.
The people in racing are generally a very pleasant and approachable group - quite a contrast to most of their counterparts in football.

Re: Hurricane Fly I remember reading an interview with Willie Mullins a while back, and he said that the Fly is an absolute monster in his box and you approach him at your peril. Even his lad and groom have to be very wary of him, and frequently get bitten. Not nice when you have half a ton of horse coming towards you bearing his teeth !

I wasn't aware of that mate but that is exactly what happened. I got out of the way but he just turned around taking the girl with him and came at me again, I'm not kidding he was ready to go on his hind legs and kick out with his front one's, have to say I did shit myself!!

I had Tarfasha on the Sunday and two each way second placed horses and had three 2nd's on the Saturday, one a 12/1 Cashell's Rock who was 12/1. I told my Brother that The Grey Gatsby is a danger but would not bet against Australia. One other thing, Michael Owen is the biggest arrogant, ignorant twat I have ever come across. Offered my hand to him in the Paddock after Brown Panther won and he could hardly raise his and did not even say thanks. He shook my hand but was not enthusiastic at all and I even told him his stables were 11 mile away from my front door.

What did you think of the ride Brown Panther got ? Ride of the day from Richard Kingscote IMO !

How about this one Nick? Walking with Australia back to his stables after his defeat at Leopardstown!! The horse at the end is Mukhadram. As you say it was Joseph's fault all day long, he tried to write another page on what this horse can do but he didn't have to. He is a dual Derby winner and the best horse Aiden has ever trained so there was no need, just win the race in the same fashion as what he won the Derbies in and move on to Ascot. I spoke to Aiden O'Brien the next day at The Curragh and asked if Australia will go to Ascot in October and he said yes but not sure yet which one of the two races he will be entered in, I think Kingman will want to avoid him! www.flickr.com/photos/95044037@N06/15233838836/

Who do you fancy now for the Arc? I have gone right off Australia...the horse that he narrowly beat in the Derby , Kingston Hill, has ironed past him and will have his ideal ground.

Camelot was his best horse ever and his son got it beaten odds on in the St Leger. Australia was his best horse ever, and his son got it beaten in the Irish Champion Stakes. Real champions go through their careers unbeaten and with no hard luck stories. #frankel

I agree Royston, give me Ryan Moore anytime, best jockey around. I fancy Ruler of the World for the Arc but as far as Australia goes he is still the best around. I am saddened about Kingman as he and Tagrhooda are the only two horses I haven't met in terms of Champions of the last three years, all the others I have a picture with and it's been great. I was saving Kingman for Ascot in 4 weeks time so gutted I won't see him. There are a few more below from my trip to Ireland: Mukhadram, Al Kazeem, Gordon Lord Byron and Slade Power who was there not racing but to do an after racing work out so I got lucky. Australia Mukhadram Al Kazeem Gordon Lord Byron Kicking King Cursory Glance Leading Light Encke Slade Power Ravens Pass Rizeena Sea the Stars AGA Khans stud

Not really into racing but those are some great pics Paul. You've obviously got some good connections to get into the holy of holies ...........or do you just pretend to be a jockey.

No connections at the tracks mate but several at the studs.
At the courses I just ask if it's ok to do what I do. It's different in Ireland, much different, no elitism or people looking down their noses at you like there are over here. Of course there are some places that are off limits but I still ask and like I say in Ireland I have never ever been declined. They can see my blend of a passion for horses and of photography and I very often combine the two and as a result want to allow you to get that lasting memory in a picture. I walked across the track with Australia after his Champions stakes defeat and they asked me to come back and see him at Ballydoyle.
Over here the prices are sky high and it's not as enjoyable, the English treat it as an elitist sport where the fans are concerned. The Irish encourage a persons interest in the sport where as the likes of Michael Owen treat you like second class citizens, he is rock bottom as a person in my estimation from what I witnessed at The Curragh, one ignorant bastard as is his entourage and Ted Dascombe the trainer.

Who do you fancy in the Arc Paul ? I was checking the odds on Betfair just now....the most open and arguably the worst quality Arc for many years.

The Ruler of the World Royston but I don't want him to run, I want him to run at Ascot instead 2 weeks later so I can see him..

Great pics!!! Thanks for uploading. Gives one a clue what it's like there.
Do people bet for money? Large amounts? Anyway, the community seems to be very friendly and approachable. Probably not that much airs and graces :-)
